Is There A Way Of Keeping A Friend On Facebook But Stopping There Status And Pictures Coming Up In

How do I stop my Facebook comments on a friend/page's posts from showing up on my other friends' feed (who are not mutually connected)?

Apparently this question refers to when you've commented on a public (or less likely, friends-of-friends) post. And the short answer is you can't.FB occasionally—not that often, but it does happen—display a News Feed story like "John commented on April's post". The only people who will see this are people who were authorized to see April's post in the first place.Privacy for comments can't be adjusted (and never could be—FB's privacy controls are actually MORE sophisticated than they used to be). Comments on a post are visible to whomever can see the post (exception, if you've blocked a user, you will not see their comments). The post owner is the only person who can adjust the settings; you can see generally on the post itself if it's "public", "friends of friends", etc (and Page posts are always public). So if you're friends with A, and B is also friends with A, you can't make a comment on A's post so that B can't see it (unless you block B). Likewise if A's post is public so that B could see it even as a non-friend of A, B can also see your comment. You could theoretically ask A to make the post not visible to B. But I believe that is why FB invented the inbox. If you don't want to say something that other people will see, use a private message.

Why aren't my friends' posts showing up in my Facebook news feed on my iPad?

The Facebook 10.0 update for iPhone and iPad has removed the Most Recent Newsfeed from its previous, easy to find position right at the top of the main screen. This has led to a burst of confusion and consternation and yes, a lot of questions. The good news is that the Most Recent Newsfeed isn't gone, it's just been buried. Here's how to find it!Launch Facebook for iPhone or iPadTap the More tab at the bottom rightScroll down to the Feeds section (which includes Close Friends tab)Tap the > to the right off Feeds to expand the sectionTap on Most RecentFrom one tap to three in one update flat! No doubt Facebook has its reasons for exiling the Most Recent feeds to the sidebar, but no doubt those who make frequent use of it will be less than thrilled and let Facebook know all about it.

Can you change your Facebook profile picture without having the change show up in news feeds?

Yes you surely can there is no direct option but here’s how to do itThere are two ways in which you can change your Facebook profile picture without showing in others news feed…First method:Go to your profile and click on “Edit” on your profile pictureClick on “Select Profile Picture”You will be directed to “Camera Roll” where You can either select your image from your phone’s gallery or snap a new picIf you want to choose your existing photos in your Facebook timeline then click on “photos of you”5. Once you’ve selected your image either from “Camera Roll” or “Photos of you” then you need to click on “use”.6. This will post your image as a public post and everyone can see it even your friends and also public so don't worry we’ll take care of that and make it a private. So click on “...”7. Then click on “Edit Privacy”8.Then click on “Only Me” and then back now no one can see this update.Second method is similar to first one but differs from the seventh step of previous method that is instead of pressing “Edit Privacy” you need to click on “Edit post” as shown with label 2 in the image below and then simply choose “Only Me”.Hope this helps….

Facebook pictures being stolen?

my friend (well not really my friend, i just know her) had her pictures\from her facebook copied and put into some random girls profile. and like everyone is commenting on her photos saying "you look so pretty!!" and shes pretending theyre actually her and everything. how can she stop this? its kinda stalkerish and scary...

Moms on Facebook always posting pics of their kids?

If you are really this annoyed by this, you have to ask yourself why you are also not peeved about the people who make endless updates about:

-- my job sucks; oh I am working so hard, etc, big work deal this and big work deal that
-- look at the exotic places I am travelling to! Here I am in sunglasses!
-- omg you won't believe what fancy-pants restaurant I am checking in at; earlier I dined on roast panda

etc etc

Loads of people are Facebook oversharers; it isn't just mothers. If you are knee-jerking disgust at the mothers without being irked at the other lookit-me stuff, look within, worry about your own insecurities...

(The blog you want to follow, though, is called "STFU Parents")

Is there a way to update your info on Facebook without sending a notification to everyone’s news feed?

Changing your Facebook information shouldn’t always be a public affair. But every time you make a change, whether it’s something trivial like adding a hometown or something more personal like changing a relationship status, Facebook announces the update in your friends’ news feeds. If you’d rather keep some things low-key , you can prevent Facebook from sending the updates by following few easy steps as I have mentioned…Go to your Facebook Timeline and click the “Update Info” button.Click the “Edit” button in the category that includes the item you want to change.Click the privacy setting button next to the specific item you will change, and then change the setting to “Only Me.”Enter your new information, and then save the change. Because of the new privacy setting no one else will see the change in their news feed, but they also can’t see the information on your Timeline.Click the “Activity Log” button near the top of your Timeline.Click the “pencil” icon next to the update describing the change you just made, and select “Hidden From Timeline.”Return to your Timeline and click the “Update Info” button.Go back to the item you updated, and change the privacy setting back to its original state. Because you have hidden the update in your own Timeline, the update will not appear in your friends’ news feeds once you make the information visible again. And there we go…!!*Tip: If you’ve made an update that’s already been sent to your friends, you can make the item disappear from their news feeds by going to your Activity Log and selecting the “Hidden From Timeline” option for the update.

Is it illegal to take pictures of someone's facebook profile without permission?

Firstly, she sounds a very mentally unstable woman. You need to keep calm.

Secondly, your boyfriend needs to grow a pair and quickly change his Facebook password and beef up his Privacy Settings so she can't see anything. He might need to Block her completely. Like NOW.

Profile pictures cannot be made private. However other photographs can be made private using your privacy settings. If she has already taken copies or shared them on Facebook without your permission, you should report her to Facebook. They do not like people to 'steal' photographs in that way.

If she has taken copies of your status' and your photographs and is using them elsewhere (not on Facebook), then it's going to be a struggle to get her to stop doing that.

Suing for Slander or Libel is not an option really. It is extremely expensive and hard to win cases anyway.

Your boyfriend needs to stop recording her, as without her permission, that is not legal. He needs to get rid of the recording and tell her that he's got rid of it.

So, block her on BOTH your Facebook accounts; beef up your Privacy Settings (as she may have friends who can look at your public profile and timeline), and don't antagonise her any more. If she's been using your photos on Facebook, report her to Facebook. Keep away from her.

Whats the point of Twitter, Instagram, etc when theres Facebook?

Twitter has post character limits which means posts are ALWAYS short and sweet.
Instagram has the ability to add beautiful filters to make your pictures gorgeous.
Facebook combines everything together and allows all, but it doesn't do a particular thing uniquely.

On facebook, can people steal your pics?!?

I have some pics from an event and I have some special ones (of like Celebrity autographs) but I'm worried about people stealing it and claiming it's theirs! I want to share it tho...is there any way to prevent this theft?!

Thanks!

Why do porn scammers keep sending me friend requests on Facebook?

So apparently since at least 2016-onwards (once or twice a weekish), I've been getting friend requests from various porn scammers who have a really hot girl or random pornstar as their profile picture and cover photo, and a TinyURL link in the description of their profile picture.

I haven't accepted any friend requests from these porn scammers, since I Googled the TinyURL's and it's apparently a scam/Trojan viruses, but it's bugging me how many friend requests I've gotten, probably over 70-100+ porn scammer friend requests by now, no joke! And the oddest thing is that these porn scammer profiles last a few hours or days and are gone from my friend requests temporarily with only more porn scammers to come back to haunt me.

Am I the only one that's been experiencing this?!
