How do I get a certified copy of my Certification of Birth Abroad Form FS-545?
I just had to go through the same thing. My dad was in the navy and I was born in Scotland. You have to write to the Dept. of State in Washington, D.C. They don't make the FS-545 anymore. They have replaced it. You can either get a FS-240, which is a consular report of birth abroad or a DS-1350, which is a Certification of report of Birth of a United States Citizen. They are $30 each. In order to get GI Bill benefits do you have to take a drug test?
I haven't gone to the community college yet, but I've gotten my letter of eligibility for the GI Bill in the mail. I qualify for 100%. Will I have to take a drug test? If I fail the drug test, do I lose my benefits? I'm not in the army, the benefits were transferred from my dad to me. I haven't smoked marijuana for a little over a month now, but I was thinking about doing it again with my friends this weekend but I don't want to mess up my future. -Only answer if you know PLEASE.
Where is my Post 9/11 GI Bill BAH and book stipend?
I am in the same boat with you. The VA is one of the most dysfunctional part of the government. Everything they do always comes up short. I am still waiting on my payment. I don't even know when I receive my payment. However, they said it take anywhere between 6-8 week How in the hell paying someone takes 2 months. They still do literally everything manually in the 21 century. I don't suggest you to drop any classes. 12 credit hours are required for BAH if you are in undergrad. Do what you got to do to hang on.
Post 9/11 GI Bill Award Letter?
I received a letter dated October 29th, 2009 stating that a payment in the amount of $7335 will be sent to my school and that a payment in the amount of $666.72 for my book stipend was sent to me. I was a little thrown off since A) the school has not received anything and B) neither have I. I called the VA and they informed me that all monies are received within a week or when they are sent out. I talked to a separate VA rep who said it could take longer because all payments are put into a queue and go out in the order received. My question is for anyone who received the letter from the VA stating what was paid on your behalf to the school and what was paid to you for your book stipend, in addition to BAH...how long before that money was deposited into your account and your school's? Thank you so much. I just want to clarify that I am not talking about the certificate of eligibility. This is the award letter using past tense, saying what was paid out specific to your claim. Im trying to fill out my application for a certificate of eligibility for a home loan, and they are asking for a claim file number. I have the GI Bill, and they said that the file number for that is my social. Is it the same thing for the home loan? Because the home loan paperwork number stats with a C. If not, where can I get a file number?
