Is There A Way To Have The Tumblr Dashboard When The Blog Is Private

How do you un-private Tumblr blog posts?

go to the post that you want to make public.

if viewing from the dashboard, in the upper right hand corner you should see an 'edit' button
click it.
there should be an option that says 'private'
click it and change it to public.

if viewing from your profile, click the + sign, and go to edit and do above action ^

Help with my private tumblr blog please..?

Ok, so I have my private tumblr blog and of course it's password protected. This is going to be hard to explain but hopefully you guys understand.

Well, I want to make it so that EVERY TIME someone comes to my page, they have to type in the password to my blog.
On my computer, phone, everything, whenever you type in the password, it works. and when you get off the page, and then go to get on the page again, it just pops up without having to type the password in again.
I really don't like that, I want to make it so that you have to type the password every time you enter and leave the blog.

I hope this was understandable.
Can anyone help me with this?

How can I make my primary Tumblr blog, private?

I'm tired of all these spam blogs following me. How can I make my primary Tumblr blog private? It's getting annoying and so far I've had to block quite a few spam blogs. I don't want to create a side blog, I just want to know how to make the blog I have now private for a little while. I know in the past you used to be able to, but I can't figure out how to do it now, if you actually can at all. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do you change private tumblr password?

The answer above is not correct. First of all, if you have a password protected blog, it means its not your primary blog. So first of all, go to your dashboard, and select that blog on your sidebar, after that go to customize, and then click on Advanced in the navigation bar, scroll down till you see the option, the current password is there change it and SAVE + CLOSE.

The first answer is just to change your regular password for tumblr, nothing else than that.

How do I change main primary Tumblr blog?

If you want to change your main blog’s username, just click on the little user icon on the top bar of your dashboard and click on Edit Appearance on your main blog. Now under Username just click on the little pencil on the right side and change it. Click Save when you’re done.If what you’re asking is how to turn a sideblog into a main blog, unfortunately this is not possible. All you can do is use a sideblog’s username in your main blog but you can’t make a sideblog your main one.

How do you view the posts you've made private on Tumblr?

NEVER MAKE IT PRIVATE! It will disappear. The private function is one of the worst in tumblr.

The only way you can get back is from your tumblelog, you have to scroll down manually and find it.

If I password protect a Tumblr with followers, can those followers see my tumblr in their dashboards if they do not have the password?

Whoever’s following your private blog will see your posts on their dashboards. Password protecting a tumblr blog only stops people from accessing the URL of your blog, not from seeing your posts on their dashboards. If you’ve set a password and some of your blog’s followers don’t have it and you don’t want them to see your posts, your only option is to block those people from that blog since otherwise they will only not be able to see your blog through the URL but the dashboard will work just the same as if your blog wasn’t protected in the first place.

How is the 'post privately' option supposed work on tumblr...?

I presumed if/ when posting privately, an option would appear to view private posts (on the dash-- maybe located somewhere near 'drafts', etc.) but I posted privately 3X and there's no sign of those posts!

I was thinking posting privately may create blank spaces in-between other posts (a good thing-- so the archive wouldn't look so cluttered and cramped), but it didn't do that, either.

So- what's the point of posting privately...?
