If 4G LTE can be faster than WiFi, why don't we replace WiFi routers with 4G LTE femtocell routers to get better range?
The relative speed of LTE and WiFi is not really the determining factor in this question. In a domestic situation both the WiFi router and the LTE femtocell would be connected to the home Internet connection, so it is the speed of that connection that would probably limit the data rate available in either case. The data rate of an 802.11ac WiFi router is academic if it's only connected to a 6Mb/s ADSL connection or even a 20Mb/s fibre service.It does raise an interesting point about broadband connections in rural areas though. Currently LTE is mostly serving urban hotspots, but within the next year or so it may well be extended into areas that are not served by fibre, and therefore we could see people choosing to use LTE dongles or MiFi (a WiFi hotspot connected to the LTE network) in preference to their slower fixed connections. Indeed in some countries of the world such as India, where fixed broadband penetration is less than 10%, LTE is likely to become the preferred means for connecting to the Internet whether at home or mobile.

And I ported to Airtel from Idea with their my infinity 499 plan which included Airtel secure as a complimentary benefit.I met with a minor accident and broke the screen of my most prized possession, along with a few bruises on Jan 2nd late night. I immediately raised the request on Airtel app for claim and uploaded the requisite documents. Next day I get a call from Airtel secure (not sure if they were from Airtel or OneAssist) to upload a few more documents which I promptly did. On Jan 4th, I got a call from ecomm Express that my phone will be picked up from my residence and it was same day in the evening.Then next day the estimate arrived of Rs 15,700 from the authorized service centre and I got a call again to check a few more things and then I was told that all these details have been shared with the insurance company for their review and approval. This was on Jan 6th.After reading all the reviews I was skeptical if my claim would be approved. And the wait was long. After 3 days on, 9th Jan I got a message followed by a call that claim has been approved and I need to make 10% payment towards deductible. I promptly made the payment Rs 1,570.The phone went for repair on Jan 11th and was successfully repaired and delivered to me on Jan 17th.I was regularly provided updates over phone and through emails/text messages.Reviews about anything are generally biased towards negative experiences, because of the normal human tendency to make that effort (to write a review) only if the experience has been bad. Insurance reviews are prone to this syndrome even more. So put on statistician cap and think about phone insurance and decide whether you want to take it.
