Why would cable internet slow down at night time?
The simple answer is because more people are using it. In many regards a cable modem system is similar to a highway. It has a certain number of lanes and so long as those lanes aren't congested traffic moves along quickly, but as soon those lanes have more traffic coming in than they can move out they start slowing down. There are also other reasons, but simple congestion is the most common.
How can I purposely slow down the Internet connection for everyone in my house, discreetly?
I have been in support for a long time. There are usually two questions. What do you want to do and why do you want to do it. You have luckily answered both honestly.Your first question is your solution to your second question, and it is a poor one. It involves deceiving your parents to get them to do what you want. Grow up! Solve the problem yourself!Do you have proof the ISP is "ripping you off?" Your parents dont "care" because life is busy, or their internet habits do not require fast speed. Go to speedtest.net and run the test several times, recording uoload abd download speeds. Repeat every hour or two for a day or two.. Not necessary to do while you are sleeping unless you torrent during the night. Use a wired connection if possible, or at least keep your laptop next to wifi router. If possible, rerun on another device to ensure issue is not your pc.Your speed will fluctuate depending on time of day. And if its dsl, it wl fluctuate depending how many neighbors in your dsl shared pool are using their internet too.If its really bad you can try unplugging your broadband gateway/router (some call this a modem). For instance, Comcast will very occasionally bump up speed by sending code to comcast router, but it won't work until modem is restarted. If your analysis shows that download and /or upload speeds are not close to the tier group you pay for, give their tech support line a call. Yourself. Make sure your parents know about it. You may be on hold for a while. Or not. They may run a test remotely, or scedule a visit. This should be free if they own the router, which they almost certainly do.
Is it okay to stop seeding in uTorrent?
This is something people usually have varied opinions about, so I will let you decide whether you want to seed torrents or not. I would rather try to explain what torrents are and what seeding actually means. If you are not interested, please skip the answer.Torrents are technically a P2P interaction client, which means that there is no server for torrents, but just indexed files on the computers of different users.Okay I get it, I said I would give you a simplified version and this probably seems like some technical gibberish. A P2P interaction system is simply computers connected together sharing files. It’s like I have a file, and I make it available for users around to access. Now after I give access to 2 files on my computer, anyone can download those files. But that is only as long as I am connected to the network.Basically, it is just a copying mechanism where you copy files from one computer to the other. Seeding a torrent means making it available for users to copy it from your computer. If you are seeding a torrent, people all over the world have access to the files in the said torrent, thanks to you. It is just like community service after the community has served you.Remember that there was someone seeding the said torrent, and that is primarily what enabled you to download the file in the first place. Now, the decision is yours.

Is It OK to Peel Skin After SunBurn?
Actually, it's not really a sunburn, but after coming back from my trip to California my face has gotten really dry and started to peel a lot....it looks weird because where it has peeled it's white, and the rest of my face is dark brown.... So is it ok if I just go ahead and peel off the flakes myself? I want it to be gone by this Monday....
