Is there a word for the phrase "torn between good and evil?"?

Is there a word or phrase similar to "Captain Obvious"?

I've run in to a lot of people who like to explain jokes to me that need no explanation.

Yes, my name is JackAce. Yes, I make a lot of smartass remarks. You don't need to tell me that a more appropriate name for me would be "JackAss". That's why I picked the name in the first place, dummy.

If I want to draw attention to the lame insulter's lack of originality, what can I say to these morons besides "Thank you, Captain Obvious"? I find that phrase a bit outdated.

Is there a word or phrase that says "whisper loudly" besides that one?

I'm writing a novel. One of the things that causes manuscripts sent to publishers to be rejected is using adverbs, particularly those ending in -ly. Sure enough, one of the first things that happens in this novel is someone whispers loudly. You know that kind of whisper. It's done so loud the guy might as well yell, but he whispers instead. So, can anyone explain a whisper that can be heard over the sound of a trash truck picking up trash 20 feet (about 7 meters) away, without using an adverb to describe it? Thanks.
