Is There Any Chance Of Me Being An Actress

Realistically, what are the chances of becoming a famous actress?

Some really dodgy equations going on here. 50-50? So every second person who wants to be an actor will get to Hollywood?

1 in 1000? Totally random figure plucked from the air.

In the UK, 2,600 people have been made millionaires by randomly playing the lottery - that's not including people who won 900,000, just those who won a million or more (figures confirmed by Camelot).

There are far fewer than 2,600 people in the UK today who make a living from acting alone. Review any programme from just five years ago and you'll be asking yourself "whatever happened to them?" about a good percentage of the cast, the leads as well as the supporting cast. Go back 10 years, and it is shocking who fell off the radar. So even of those who get a very rare chance, don't necessarily go on to have a career out of acting.

These are true stats you can check yourself. No random figures. No false hope.

Accredited drama schools audition thousands of people just for 30 odd places every year. From that 30, statistically, 20 will have given up within five years due to lack of income. Of the other ten, most won't make a living solely from acting. Maybe 2 will go onto to make a living from acting, but none will necessarily become famous, and almost never will any of these work in Hollywood.

Hey, live your dreams, but remember - you only dream when you're sleeping. You can achieve so much more if you're wide awake to the reality of the situation. Is it impossible? No. Is it it realistic? No. Is this why you should choose to become an actress, because you just want to be semi-famous for a couple of years? No.

If you don't 'just' want to be a famous actor, why ask how likely it is that you will become famous? Just get on with the acting, and let random chance do what it will. Oh, and one more tip - buy lottery tickets, cos if believe you can manipulate how lucky you are against the odds, why wouldn't you put it to the test and make lots of money with no effort?

How can I marry an Indian actress?

Hey there people, first of all let me tell y'all Frankly I'm a 18 yr old guy and yes I am dating a teen bollywood actress. Let me start with one thing, actresses are also humans like us, they also look around for nature, And all the qualities a gentleman should have, but the only difference is they are harder to reach than other normal girls. To be clarifying the things here, I'm self made entrepreneur and am also Millionaire by the age of 18. Yes financial status is a stand point for them as public does judge them from the people they are close and if especially you are dating someone as an actor, you WILL be judged by your partner's image as it's gonna be all public about your relationship.Me being a millionaire wasn't the thing that impressed her, but my nature is. She likes me for what I am. People are quaking around saying you gotta be a Billionaire/millionaire to be around them. It's not the case, even we both go to places to eat and chill and all the time we split bills, although we are tremendously abundant on money. She buys me gifts that are more expensive than what I buy her mostly. The only tip I'd give on such a question personally Is to completely be a gentleman that's it, and yes it does include being successful in your respective field as well.Cheers.

I am from India but I want to become a Hollywood Actress. What can I do?

It is strange to me why you would choose a location along with a profession.I'm not even sure if you can plan this sort of ambition out.  Every single day, there are 4000 young people coming to Los Angeles to live there, and pursue careers as actors and actresses.  Hollywood is in Los Angeles, and obviously most of the opportunities are there, although NYC can offer some.If you are attending college in the USA, and starting your business and plan to be able to make enough revenue to pay your tuition and living costs etc., I hope you are doing something legal, for I haven't heard of any fool proof business that can do this, and even if you can stay legal somehow despite your (foreign?) student status, all power to you! Now, there are many actresses in Hollywood.  Many of them look fantastic, have many skills, can nail most auditions, and keep training themselves.  They are also educated and trained in acting, and do attend reputed acting schools.  They undergo voice and diction training, take dance and tai chi and other lessons, and take their potential careers very seriously. The statistical chance of them making it, to the point where they can support themselves by acting alone, is about one in a hundred, at best.  That would explain the unusually high number of attractive younger people available for a variety of professions in the Los Angeles area.  The statistical chance of any of them being known as a "Hollywood Actress" is about ten times less.If you're ethnically Indian, and you're not a star in India, the chance of you being cast in any sort of role with importance is fairly slim, unless of course you have the money to finance your own film, write great parts for yourself and launch yourself. What you can do is very simple - get there, train yourself, and attend all the auditions.  You might want to get yourself a good agent, and a good manager.  Cheers and good luck!

Does acne effect the chances of you becoming a famous actor?

So I have acne, it isn't that bad at all, I don't really have spots as such just... well its hard to explain. But say I wanted to become a famous actor (I know big dream, there is a lot more to it but I can't be bothered to explain it now) and was in an agency (which I am atm) and I had pictures up on a website for producers to see, would the fact that I have acne effect anything.

I mean I don't get how Ever Single famous actor has perfect skin. Sure in movies they have make up on but even in picures of them walking out of their house to put rubbish in the bin they have perfect skin. I'm not really too focused on older actors but you actors like 10-19 years old, their skin is always perfect. I get that when they are like 10 they won't really have it but the NEVER do.

It pisses me off so much. I'm a boy and I'm thirteen years old and I want to be an actor but I look horrible compared to any other teenage actor.

Why is this. Sure some of them will just have perfect skin but its not possible that they all do. Do directors just look out for kids with perfect skin.

I am literally tearing myself apart here!

BECOMING AN ACTRESS VS BECOMING A DOCTOR!?

Have you ever considered doing a double major? I'm going to be straight out honest your better off becoming a doctor first and leave acting to the side as a hobby when and IF you have free time. You mentioned your in love with the IDEA of becoming a successful actress, but do you LOVE acting. There is a huge difference. Do you have that passion? If not then your focus should be on becoming a doctor and do acting as a side hobby. Acting is not a very "secure" career. It is filled with A LOT of unemployment There are doctors who do acting on the side. They do exist and I have met them before, but they rarely get time to do any acting. Look it sounds like you have alot on your plate and I don't think this is the right place to be asking this life changing question. Getting into this business is EXTREMELY difficult! The only way to usually make a living out of acting is by being apart of a union and having an agent and those are hard to get because you need alot of training and experience to even land an agent. Even those that came from prestigious schools STILL can't land agents.

Your question is realistic and this is a something that I think most young actors are faced with. You can do a double major, but I don't see it lasting for very long. Studying to become a doctor is VERY tedious. Quite frankly, I think more tedious than studying acting. When will you have time to memorize lines or rehearse your monologues or scenes. In some serious acting schools your in a studio from 9am to 5pm. How will you have time to study science and math and possibly do internships if that is a requirement for your major? These are questions you need to ask yourself. Most serious actors sustain themselves by having retail jobs or do other odd jobs to support themselves like being a waiter, do retail, work at a coffee shop. Something flexiable.

So is there any chance of me becoming famous?

Sure you have a chance at being famous - a very small one. But you won't be "discovered". Actors are not discovered and given a career - it's a huge investment of time, effort and money for you and your family. It requires talent, training, experience and an understanding of the business end of things. There are a of of scams and rip offs that prey on families who mistakenly think actors are "discovered".

And it's admirable that you work at your performing skills - classes, practicing and getting experience. That's great; but wanting to be famous some day is a very immature reason to go through all of that. It indicates that you really are not all that different from every other "13 year old princess who wants to be famous". And you will be disappointed.

Child performers who take classes, practice and get experience simply because that's what they love to do will be happier. They don't need people to recognize them or take pictures of them. What gets them excited is not thinking of walking the red carpet or signing autographs but getting to entertain people and play a different character and work with a team to put on a show.

And those are the kids that industry professionals want to work with. Kids looking for fame are often self-centered and not team players - so not all that fun for professionals to work with. If a child actor tells and agent they want to be an actor to b famous - most agents would not want to represent that child.

So if you're willing to put in all this work and effort even if you only have a slim chance of fame - maybe should rethink things. You should be doing all of that because it makes you happy - because you love doing it - and even if you never, ever get famous it would something you want to do because it helps fulfill you.
