Is "Stuffing envelopes / Stuff envelopes / Envelope stuffing / Processing envelope, etc" a scam?

There are no legitimate at home envelope stuffing jobs and haven't been since the early 90s. These days it's so cheap to have 10,000 envelopes stuffed, sealed, labelled and stamped in an hour at any mailing house that nobody would ever ask individuals to do this from home. Do you know how long it would take a person to stuff, seal, label and stamp 10,000 envelopes?
These are all upfront fee scams - there is no money to be made as nobody is hiring people to do these jobs. You pay for your "starter kit" but there are no assignments and you just threw money down the toilet on supplies that will never be used

Is there a legit work at home stuffing envelope company?

There are almost no work-from-home jobs that aren't total b.s.

If you're interested in stuffing envelopes, apply for a job at a printer/bindery (like Transcontinental), a direct-mail firm (like ValPak), or your postal carrier.

Envelope stuffing scam?

just for the heck of it I typed in that url for studentworknow. It came right up. Are you sure you typed it in right? Try somebody elses computer. Maybe you have a block on yours. Otherwise, all the envelope stuffing that I know of has been a scam. I know somebody that was doing it for a month or so. The Post Office told her that it had to stop. That it was in violation of federal codes or something. Unless this is in a respectable job place then I wouldn't go with it. She did it out of her home. Right now you could see if H&R block needs help. They usually hire around tax season. That should hold you till maybe the end of April. Sorry I'm not much help. Just wanted to let you know about the stuffing scams.

Can people actually make money from home stuffing envelopes or the like?

Yes, you can.   But good situations are rare. Here are 2012 response rates for direct marketing in my industry: FedEx                                          7%                                        Hand-addressed envelope      3%Postcard                                      2%Bulk rate envelope                  0.5%E-mail                                      <0.1% FedEx's are usually too expensive for mass marketing. But hand-addressed envelopes can work well.(Recipients are intrigued by real handwriting and real stamps.) But beware! Anyone who asks you to pay money to stuff envelopes is a scam artist. Legitimate business people require no upfront investment from you.Or any deposit of any kind.   Remember, they are paying you.  You should never pay them. Good luck!

Is 60 seconds to fold and stuff envelopes reasonable at a job?

Are you folding each page separately? When we had to stuff envelopes for work we'd take 4 sheets at a time, fold them (crease with the back of a spoon or something) and then separate them. Each went into an envelope and we used a sponge tipped moisture thingie to seal the envelope. I don't think a glue stick will hold up through the Post Office handling.

If they said it would take 2 hours, then it would take THEM two hours and they'd expect that of you too.

When I was a young man I made money stuffing envelopes. Are there still any legitimate stay at home jobs like envelope stuffing or electronics assembly?

What is “legitimate” to you?If “legitimate” is a) paying a lot of money, per piece especially and b) repeat and rinsing the same thing a million times to make widget A in time B to C customers then I have news for you the digital revolution happened with the InternetThe only “illegitimate” thing is ponzi schemes, and even then if you are one of the first in (and don't get caught) would you complain? You might, if you had morals but if you didn't you wouldn't.So, what is legitimate? The only definition of legitimate is what one thinks as legitimate. If you change the way you think you will come up with lots of ideasI can think of at least a hundred right now, that may make money or may not. The problem with most is ramp up time… say creating an affiliate marketing network would take a few years and hundreds of reviews. Creating blog posts as well. Producing a product to sell on Google Chrome store etc.Well if you want typing you could do Amazon Mechanical TurkGood luckP.S. Forget about “legitimate” or “illegitimate” as long as it isn't illegal or taking advantage of people or crossing any moral lines, it is legitimate. “Legitimate” is programming put into your head from other people who have ideas about what is and isn't a job. Those people are gone or out of your life and don't have to live with the consequences, it won't help you to think like them.
