However, telemarketing has brought with its serious issues of invasion of privacy and has become major irritant to customers.To stop receiving telemarketing calls or SMS-es, you can dial 1909 or send an SMS to 1909. For details, log onto www.nccptrai.gov.in and click on "How to register‟ under the tab that says "Information for customers." If you receive telemarketing calls or SMS-es a week after you've registered, you can complain to your phone company. You'll need to give the phone number from which the unsolicited commercial communication, as well as the date, time and brief description of the service being peddled. You can also visit www.nccptrai.gov.in and click on the "How to register complaint" under the tab that says "Information for customers." You are entitled to receive a response on your complaint within seven days. You can cancel your registration after three months.All Telemarketers have been allocated 10 digit number of 70XXXXXXXX number series. Therefore, you can identify the telemarketing call even if you are not registered with NCPR.By this way consumer can block Promotional SMS in India.Hope this answer will help you....!!!
Samsung GT-E1200M - How can I block certain numbers from calling ?
I use this phone for work, and I get tomes of spam calls and text messages as well from different marketing cervices. I would like to block a few numbers so they won't be able to contact me at all. how exactly is it done with this samsung phone? besides, I would also like to ask from people who got the same phone, is it possible to connect it to my PC using a USB cable ? are there any apps and other things available for the GT-E1200M ? thanks

It depends how you block it. Depending on your carrier they may either block incoming calls and still allow text, block both incoming but still allow outgoing, or block incoming/outgoing calls, and incoming text. This also changes based on software solutions (apps, integrated blacklists, etc.). For most integrated blacklist apps it only blocks incoming calls or text. If you want to block both incoming and outgoing an app designed for parental controls would probably be the easiest route as they're designed to stop kids from having contact with restricted numbers all together. As far as blocking outgoing SMS, I don't think it's possible, or at least appears incredibly difficult without using a custom SMS app. If blocking incoming and outgoing calls/incoming text is what you want, you may need to use several services to achieve what you want(at least if you want to avoid paid apps; if not maybe Call Guard - SMS Call Blocker would work, but it doesn't block outgoing text) something like Calls Blacklist will work to block incoming text and calls, then there are a lot of apps to block outgoing calls. Obviously if you're using any of these be sure you trust them as you obviously must grant then permissions to monitor your calls and text to pick out and stop the correspondences from unwanted contacts. As far as the outgoing text goes, perhaps your carrier could stop the device you want from contacting the number you don't want.
Why does my galaxy s4 have no sound?
why does the sound on my s4 not work?I have absolutely no sound on my galaxy s4. No music no games no ringer no calls. Also my process system and touch wiz force closes. It freezes when calls come through I don't know who's calling unless they leave a vm. My camera doesn't work it says camera failure. My gallery also takes sooooo long to load. Idk what it could be. No blocking mode or anything is on and sometimes my camera will work and things will no longer force close it works fine just no sound but what so ever no sound Did a factory reset still no luck. Im starting to think its a software problem or the mother board is on its last leg somebody help I've been dealing with this for almost 3mnths now.

Following steps work for me on Android with Vodafone network and no special app is needed. AFAIK this should work everywhere in India as voicemail is rarely used in India.1. Edit desired contact to be blocked.2. On edit screen, in the options menu, check the one that says "All calls to voicemail"That's it. Your mobile network fails to redirect call to voicemail as no number is set. Eventually caller gets just a busy tone and callee has zero notifications, not even about a missed call.Not useful if callee wants to know if blocked contact had called.Works like a charm for me :)

Just tab on the blocked messages notification and unblock the messages to read them. Once done, block the messages again.
How do you block calls on a Straight Talk phone?
Depending on the Straight Talk phone that you have you can block calls from people that are not listed in your contacts list. This will not work on all phones but it will work on some of the older Straight Talk phones. Go to Settings, Phone Settings, Security, enter your 4 digit unlock code, Restriction. Then decide what restriction you want to set. If you set contacts, the only calls that will come thorough and that you can dial are people who are listed in your contacts list.
