Is There Any Software For Time Banks

Is there a software solution / bank that might handle a high volume of automatic direct deposits for B2B transactions?

I believe most banks do not post transactions until the next day, unless it is a wire transfer. It might show funds immediately, but they will not be available for withdrawal until they are posted, depending on the credit terms of each bank.Payment gateways should allow you to settle batches of credit card transactions multiple times per day, but again, the banks will likely show them one or two days later... depending on your country I guess. You can start by asking your acquiring bank if they have an API for wire transfers... If you want those funds immediately available, but the cost of transactions might not be practical.

You are an office manager at a bank, choose 4 new software packageswrite a report stating the reason behind it.

If you want a quality report you need to be a bit more specific with your question.

Just what tasks do you want the software to accomplish? HR/Payroll, CRM, transaction management, time and attendance, backoffice applications, countless other tasks..? You need to know that the money you will spend will actually make sence for the task and ensure that you get an acceptable return on your investment.

You also need to be more specific with the type of bank and budget you are on. Is this a local savings and loan with one or two offices? or is it a branch of a major regional or national bank?

What are the first steps to developing banking software?

I am a self taught programmer and I always thought that building a bank application would be very easy because it is just a matter of creating a database table with debit and credit fields. However, there is more when it comes to making banking software. The first step is choosing the operating system where the software will be running. Then, you need to focus on the database (backend) in terms of cost, ease of programming and deployment.Once you have these all setup, you need to do a research on the products being offered by the banks. Basically, they deal with savings, shares and loans. You also need to know that each bank can have different offices and several users on each of the office. Also, banks earn profit through penalties (in loans) and other charges (e.g. savings withdrawal fee, shares purchase fee, shares transfer fee, shares redemption fee e.t.c), so you must incorporate charges on your software. You can get a good overview about everything you need to develop the bank software by studying Mifos, it is an open source organization that have developed a software for managing micro-finance banks.I read the guide around 3 years ago and it was amazing. Finally, I managed to make my own sacco software(Sacco is the name used by most small banks in Kenya). The software(Franktek Microsystems Sacco software) runs on Windows operating system and it is desktop based, I have used a remote MySQL database because it is cheap and easy to deploy and furthermore, getting it on shared hosting is very easy.In simple terms, I have incorporated most of the features of a bank to my software. You can get an overview about what my sacco software does by visiting Franktek Microsystems Sacco Software

Accounting software that will monitor a bank account.?

Does anyone know of any free or nearly free accounting software that is able to monitor funds deposited/withdrawn from a bank account but still act and feel like an old school check register?

What I would like to find is something that I can install locally on my computer that will access my online checking account, pull transactions (automatically or manually through a reconcile button or something similar) and still allow me to manually input pending transactions. This would of course require entry of your online banking information (routing number, account number, User name, password, etc...). As it is right now all I can do is copy and paste transactions into a spreadsheet to manually include pending transactions and update balances and its a bit of a pain.

I'm not sure if such software even exists due to security polices in place at most banks (or am I just being a total NOOB and just not realized there are tons of them out there? lol) if anyone knows of such an application, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Do you know alternatives to Cyclos trade & banking software?

There are not many technical solutions for local exchange networks and cyclos is by far the largest player. But there are:Community weaver lll - http://www.timebanks.orgDrupal module called Hamlets - http://WWW.communityforge.netHoursworld - http://www.hourworld.orgPendo - http://www.pendo.ccCommunity exchange service - http://www.community-exchange.orgThere is also integralces that is online and is very similar to the last one. The technically best solution I think is Pendo. It has an API and a mobile app and very committed people working on it in their free time. This commitment is shared by all the initiatives
