Is There Anyone Here Over 50 And Loves Rap Music

Why do people like rap music?

I am not entirely sure why the masses like rap exactly, because I can’t speak for everyone. Maybe it’s the connection to african-american culture and particularly impoverished african american culture that young white kids have been aware of before and that young black kids can relate to. Perhaps it’s just the fact that when it came out there was nothing like it before and it continued to expand. I wouldn’t know. However I can explain why I like rap. So I will try my best to give a fair explanation as to what I like about it. First of all rap music is not actually the term I like to use. Yes of course it’s the common synonym for the genre but ultimately no one would describe Rage Against the Machine as rap music and that has rapping in it. So I prefer to use the term hip-hop which describes as much as the music as it does the rapping. And one of the greatest albums of hip-hop music is the purely instrumental, entirely rap-less Endtroducing, by DJ Shadow. Get a feel of that album if you want to understand the musical quality which is just fantastic. Even a friend of mine who detests hip-hop didn’t mind the tracks I showed him off it.As for the rapping itself it allows for a lot of expressiveness, aggression and ability to create amusing or clever wordplay. I think Kendrick Lamar is the best in the business right now when it comes to that. There’s nothing I can add that hasn’t really already been said by everyone else here who appear to be bigger experts on the genre than me. I do think that hip-hop however is the direction music should be heading in.

Why do some people hate rap music?

i won’t just tell you why others hate it, but i’ll tell you why i hate it to.1. bad influence. i’m still in high school, and the majority of the kids who listen to rap here do nothing but come in throwing their gang signs, talking about smoking weed, cursing, and rapping very foul lyrics. and i find that they also develop bad attitudes. yes, a mouthy child can be anyone who wasn’t raised right, or was just spoiled, but rap influences youth to be twice as bad. some of them argue with adults and they act like they are adults themselves when their immaturity shows otherwise.2. very inappropriate music videos and lyrics. everyday i come into school, i see nothing but obnoxious kids walking around with their pants hanging off their butt’s, covered in gold jewelry, and then i realize that’s exactly how these rappers dress in their music videos. and their lyrics influence them as well. i always got to hear these brats say something stupid like “thug life” or “2 Chainz” or “smoke Weed everyday” or “420”. these kids are obsessed with drugs, sex , money, they take no responsibility. the next generation is doomed.3. it is just plain garbage. all they do is sing about the following-weed-money-girls-ass’s-guns which is actually hypocritical, because most rappers are bleeding heart liberals who support gun control, yet they love to rap about shooting up places.4. negative role models. the kids here also think very highly of themselves. think they can do anything, and beat anyone. they are very arrogant. they are so full of themselves, they think they can take on gangs by themselves. rap definitely has influenced this. i gave it a listen before. the song i don’t know, because i barely could understand what he was saying. but i remember part of the lyrics. not word for word, but it was in the lines of i’m better than everyone, can’t no one take me, i’m so strong, blah blah, and i know for a fact other rap songs encourage this sort of behavior.

Is there rap song about falling in love with your best friend ?? anything but metal rock or country?

this song isn't rap but it definitely describes your situation.

the girl next door (say you love me) - last winter

Well we both know
That you're no good at pretending
That this is all we'll ever be
I know you know
That you've always been
So much more than
The girl next door

Say you love me
You always kept me waiting
Just say you love me
I'll always be here waiting

It's a bit more complicated
Than boy meets girl
This boy and girl
We've always had
Our friendship here
To hold on to
I'd give it all away to hear you

Say you love me
You always kept me waiting
Just say you love me
I'll always be here waiting

Just say you love me (say you love me)

Just throw your arms around me now and

Say you love me
You always kept me waiting
Just say you love me
I'll always be here waiting

It's a bit more complicated
Than boy meets girl
This boy and girl
We've always had
Our friendship here
To hold on to
I'd give it all away to be with you
