Is There Anyone Who Has Lead A Successful Career Other Than Musicians And Artists Who Smoke Weed

Im 15, and i smoke weed sometimes. Is it bad if i do it occassionally?

i smoke a little bit of weed occasionally. i smoke weed once every one or two weeks. do you think its bad? should i be worried? ive heard that beer is far worse than weed so i was thinking it wasnt as bad.

Why is smoking marijuana allowed at concerts?

Because they cannot arrest everyone. And the only reason marijuana is illegal anyway is to keep kids from smoking it. It's really better for you than alcohol. Most people I know smoke it, and those who don't are cool with it. I know a bunch of cops that smoke too.

I tell my son, "People who smoke weed are losers." What is your response?

I guess I ought to tell you about this one “loser” I know…Like a lot of people, he smoked weed fairly regularly in high school. Also like a lot of people, he has never touched any hard drugs or been arrested. What he did do was graduate high school with grades and scores that allowed him to pick the university of his choice. He finished the first part of his studies and joined the Marines because his country had been attacked. He served multiple tours before retiring honorably, and he went back and finished his master’s degree. He had married young, but he always stayed faithful to his wife. He started a company that became successful, and by the time he turned thirty he ran another one that he took over from his father. He built his first house when he was 21, and less than eight years later he finished the home he and his wife had always dreamed of. They own it outright. This loser is also the kind of guy who stops by to visit his parents every day, and who settled money on his younger sister. You know, the kind of person who spent a weekend building a ramp for a neighbor who had been in an accident. It’s obviously terrible enough that he risked his life for his country, and that he made enough money to take care of his entire family, but he even takes in stray animals! He has one cat he found by a dumpster, and another one that he and his wife nursed from the time he was a week old. His dog was abandoned by a woman, starved and abused, and he dedicated his time and money to help the little guy to recover. This man’s wife couldn’t have children, but he didn’t leave even though a family was all he’d ever wanted. Instead he stayed, and they adopted two children together.I know, this is exactly the kind of man that most parents would be deeply ashamed of, and I do hope you share this cautionary tale with your son?

Why isn't Snoop Dogg arrested for smoking marijuana?

Lol. I went to a snoop dogg concert around the year 2001–2002 in North Carolina. Let me just say this. When snoop got up on stage, he asked the crowd for a joint. Like a 100 joints flew up on stage, he picked one up and smoked it. Lol. He smoked throughout the whole show. Everyone in the crowd was smoking openly too. So many people smoking pot at the amphitheater, the cops couldn’t do anything about it. They couldn’t arrest one person, when 500 others were doing it too.

Anybody know any famous musicians don't drink and/or do drugs?

Zappa was vehemently against drugs... to the point where he would fire any band member for taking them. Bono (and all other members of U2) have avoided any drug controversy. However, Bono has admitted to being a bit of a drinker in the past and bass player Adam Clayton was arrested 22 years ago for marijuana possession. Paul McCartney has said many times in recent interviews that he felt The Beatles' drug use hindered their song-writing ability. Pink Floyd, for a band associated with drugs and particularly LSD did not do drugs either after founding member Syd Barrett's foray into LSD caused him a lifetime of manic behavior. Rush were also drug free. Stevie Wonder has been a born-again Christian for decades and avoids any intoxicants. Aerosmith have been drug free (all five members) for over 20 years.

Probably the best argument in your favor would be Stevie Ray Vaughn. SRV had a huge drug and alcohol problem most of his career right up until he sobered up in 1986. His playing and stage energy greatly improved after sobriety. Stevie also took great joy in giving his testimony to anyone else suffering from addiction.

Good for you and your choice. Music is in the soul... it's in the heart and in the blood. It can't be smoked, snorted, shot, or taken internally. Anyone who tells you music and drugs are complimentary has little creativity or talent and depends on mind-altering substances to replace what they are lacking.

Why do people pursue art as a career?

It's just another one of those "I want to do what I love for a living" things. Like, I'm sure a lot of today's teenagers feel like their dream job would be "testing/surveying/grading video games" all day every day. Well, 'artists' feel the same way; it's something they enjoy doing and something they've been told they're good at, something they're confident in...so they want to do it for a living. However, the number of people who actually go out of their way to pursue it is slim.

I think there's also a false idea floating around that art can be "easy money". Throw a blob of paint on a canvas, or snap a picture of a twig on the grass, and give it a fancy name, and you can sell it as "art" for $50,000. They see Pollock's paintings go for hundreds of thousands of dollars and assume they can do the same thing...not realizing that 99% of the famous artists (musicians, composers, painters, etc) were never famous or valuable until AFTER they die.

I also disagree with the interpretation of what's "art". I find Pollock's paintings to be as creative as my pre-schooler's finger paintings. I don't know why some people consider a black circle as art. Now, look at any Bob Ross painting or Ansel Adam's photograph and I'll agree...that's some artistic ability! THOSE people had skill that most people lack; they actually worked to build those skills. But Pollock and some of these other "artists" are BSers if you ask me.
