Is listening to techno/trance/house music making me depressed?
Basically any kind of music can make you feel depressed. But than I ask why one would listen to music that makes him feel uncomfortable? To me most electronic music lost its appeal as I feel the lack of human interactivity.Genres like trance (psytrance) or techno. Have been listening for quite a while. But the effect it once has had is lost. The appeal faded. And so it can make me feel depressed when I listen to it for too long. But why would I do that? Right.Electronic music as such can give great support to other genres, to give new directions and ideas. But electronic music alone is like pure sugar to me. Would I eat simple sugar without anything else? No.Sugar can provide some energy for a little while, but on its own it starts to drain my energy instead of lifting me up. So I do feel for pure electronic music - not just techno -, it sucks my energy.Maybe the the reason you feel depressed when not listening to electronic music is what I experienced. The euphoria is not the same anymore, yet you still want it to be.The appeal is fading. And when it is silent there are unasnwered questions. Electronic music may start to leave you puzzled. When I was a kid I loved sweets. But suddenly - not for too long ago - it started to lose its appeal. And when I ate some candy, and then have had none for a while I started to feel weird.Than I went on without candy and it got better. Only when I have been eating a specific amount of candy again the depressing aura came back.Doesn't mean I don't like candy anymore. I only eat it every now and then to add some color to my diet, if you will. And so it happenes to me with electronic music. At one point it is all about pure euphoria. Maybe you spend too much of that euphoria during electronic music festivals? And maybe electronic music started to be the main course to be euphoric?so now, while not listening to it you feel depressed. Let go for a little while.Try to listen to other genres too.And listen to electronic music only every now and then, like having a small snack.

What are some good rap and/or rock songs to listen to when working out, especially when weightlifting or running?
(This is taken from my answer to another similar question.)Lots of Eminem songs, really. Here's a list:Lose Yourself - can't go wrong with this classic, it's got a steady beat and a powerful message, nice buildup and chorus. “You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow; this opportunity goes once in a lifetime”Till I Collapse - As you can tell from the song title itself, it pushes you to go beyond your limits. “Cause sometimes you just feel tired, feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up, but you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strengthAnd just pull that shit out of you and get that motivation to not give upAnd not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.”Berzerk - For this one it's not so much the message but rather the song's “atmosphere”; it's got an old-school feeling to it while sounding very energetic and can pump you up for any challenge.Survival - Another newer Eminem song. Sounds intense, seems especially suited for sports and physical exercise. “Cause I'm a fight 'til I die or win, biting the dust it'll just make me angrier, wait — let me remind you of what got me this far, picture me quitting, now draw a circle around it and put a line through it, slut; it's survival of what?”Hope it helped!

There's a techno song that goes like "ecstasy ecstasy" and I don't know what it's called. Any help?

Techno Music.....Parents think its innapropriate...?
basshunter isn't really techno - it's happy hardcore/euro dance type stuff. but anyway, in answer to your question, who cares what your parents think? being a teenager is supposed to be all about rebelling and forming your own identity. your mum is probably just of a different generation and the music just sounds like a load of noise to her. i would suggest you have a discussion with her about exactly what it is that she doesn't like about this music. tell her why you like it, and ask her what music she liked when she was your age. you might learn some things about each other. and keep discovering and enjoying new music, no matter what it is!
