Is There Some Sort Of Teacher Guidline Book For Oklahoma

If a teacher doesn't show up in the first 15 minutes of class, am I free to leave?

I have actually experienced this in high school, and I am telling you NOT to leave. In fact, you should report this to someone. We had an 8th period honors lit class and it was the 3rd week of school last fall. We knew ahead of time that we were going to have a sub that day. When the bell rang, nobody was there. Of course the very same rumor (the 15 minute rule) started being mentioned, but it was shut down by a few people who said that is nonsense. So, our class adjusted from the plan to leave after 15 minutes to just never calling for a teacher to come. So, for 30 minutes we socialize, while getting cover from a couple of girls (who decided to turn off the lights to make it look like we are watching a movie or something as well as make everyone shut up when someone opened the door to go to the bathroom). Of course, about 35 minutes into the 50 minute class, we got exposed when one of the students decided to email the principal that she was being trapped and pressured to be quiet and not notify anyone. The lit department supervisor came in and obliterated our class verbally, which is completely fair. Our normal teacher plus the supervisor then scolded us for another 20 minutes the following week. Luckily, in about a month, I think the incident became the past and was not really important in terms of class dynamic.Overall, I can’t tell you for college but in highschool you better not damn leave your class.

Does traditional Cherokee Medicine teach that a person can transform himself into an owl?

Yes, I am quite sure about the spelling of "Stageny". It came from a book about a real murder investigation in northeastern Oklahoma. The investigators started to see a Cherokee Medicine for advice because they believed that the person they were after was using Medicine.

Is it illegal for a teacher to have a students phone number?

No. Your home phone number is on the schools record. If u were injured at school they would need to contact your parents so I am sure they have several phone numbers to reach you and your parents. She may have gotten your cell phone number the same way. Maybe she keeps calling you because u keeping hanging up on her when she calls and she wants to speak to u. Instead of hanging up on her, talk to her. At this point nothing she has done is illegal.

Is it legal for teachers to give out their phone numbers?

Q: Is it legal for teachers to give out their phone numbers? As a teacher I frequently gave my cell phone number to the parents of my students and athletes. It's a small gesture that shows how much you care, and it's certainly not illegal for anyone to give out their phone number. That being said, most teachers wouldn't agree with doing so because they don't want to be bothered with work at home (which is also totally fine).I’ve also been in one school where administration asked us to not give out our personal numbers. Rather than make a big stink about it, I just got more selective with which parents I gave it to. The reality is that some parents simply can't call a teacher until after 5pm due to work or personal reasons, and I couldn't imagine allowing my inflexibility to be a barrier to my students’ success. What I found is that parents generally respected my personal time and barely any of them called my cell. Caller ID is awesome, and I didn't pick up unknown numbers if I had been drinking.I also chaperoned a ski club for a while, and each of the 150 people out there with us (students, teachers, parents) had my number in case of emergency. To have these wonderful technologies and not use them would just be silly.Cheers,-Chad

What do you do when the principal and the teacher try to push adhd medication ?

I know exactly what your going through and how difficult this is for you. I have a daughter that has ADHD. Her teacher was ALWAYS complaining about her. At times I felt like she had something against my daughter and always wanted to single her out. She got kicked out of first grade twice. I tried to switch teachers thinking that maybe she would do better in a different class but the principal said that we could not switch her. She was also having problems at home though. I noticed that she could not stay on task or stay focused. It was hard for her to sit still for a period over 5 minutes. Finally it came to the point that she was having several accidents and hurting herself because she was so hyper. After a long conversation with her principal, teacher, counslor and pediatrician my husband and I decided to put her on medicine. They started the dose out low for her and for a while it worked really well, but then her body would just seem like it was immune to it and you couldn't even tell she was on any medicine anymore. They switched her medicine to vivance and it is wonderful so far. She is doing much better in school, she is now making friends and is also doing great at home. She can stay focused much better and is finally able to understand things better. She came home today and read a book to me all by herself. I was so proud of her I broke out in tears. I have never regretted my decision to put her on medicine.

If you do decide to medicate your son I would discuss it with the doctor about what the best medicine would be to start him out on and start with a low dose and watch him really close for any seizures. I will warn you that you may have to switch medicines to find the one that works the best for him, but if you do get one works it is worth it so much. He will improve in school, at home and in his social life.

I was worried about side affects from the medicine. I have always heard that people on ADD/ADHD medicine walked around like a zombie or something and was always tired and had a loss of appetite. Since my daughter has been on medicine she has not had any of these side affects. She has done really well with it.

Good luck with whatever you do decide to do. Don't let anyone make the decision for you. Discuss it with your family and do what you think is best not anyone else.

Can I drive around my neighborhood without a permit?

No, that's illegal. If you for whatever reason were to get into even a fender bender with someone you could get into a lot of trouble for driving without a license.

Don't be so impatient by taking that risk. Get your permit first like everyone else before getting behind the wheel.

Can a substitute teacher have a relationship with 18 year old student?

If the substitute teacher never substituted at your school, then I suppose it would be legal; however, it might make principals nervous if they discovered that he was involved with someone the same age as those he taught. If he were teaching at her school, it would be a conflict of interest. While not illegal, it would be against most schools' policies.

Is it illegal if my teacher secretly takes photos of me at school?

Disclaimer: I am neither a lawyer, nor Belgian. So I did some Googling, and it looks like you may be protected against this under Article 22 of the Belgian Constitution. (There's a sub-article, the actual number-and-letter designation of which I did not catch, that extends protections explicitly to children.) However, it depends entirely on context. Let me explain via example:1) Your teacher's a creep and keeps snapping photos when you're bent over a book, apparently trying to catch a down-the shirt photo: so illegal, you don't even need to look at the Belgian Constitution. 2) Your teacher is just being weird: probably a Constitutional matter, and definitely worth discussing with the principal.3) Your teacher is documenting poor behavior from you and/or your friends: sorry, you're out of luck. This can be considered a form of protection for your teacher, in fact, should you try to retaliate against discipline.
