Cold sore or pimple?

Well i woke up and there was this red bump on the corner of my lip and i've never had a cold sore so i assumed it was a pimple and i tried to pop it as it was kinda painful, like a pimple normaly is when its big and is kinda like a pressure under the skin. Only a little puss came out and it kept hurting all day. Near the end of they day i went to a mirror and it finally had a white head like a pimple. I applied very little pressure and it popped easily and a lot of puss came out and the pressure was pretty much gone. It bled a little and formed a scab. This was yesterday and the scab is still there. It does not hurt but if i stretch my mouth as much as possible in kinda tears. Other than that it is pain free. I can eat properly and everything. Is this herpes? Also, is it possible for it to be herpes if in the morning it is big and red and by the end of the day it has a white head? I have had similar things happen elsewhere (its red, then i apply pressure and it turns to a white head)

A cold sore usually itches and spreads at least a little bit. It also gets really crusty. Cold sores are herpatic lesions which can be brought on by stress or a recent virus (also some other causes, too.) Whichever it is for you- hope it goes away, soon!

Cold sore or lip pimple?

Hello. So, I just want to get some input. I am on my period, thus meaning I have acne right now. I noticed a small pimple (or what I thought was a pimple) forming on my bottom lip, but I have gotten pimples there before, so I didn't freak out too much. I was able to see a white head before it actually formed into a zit. That was on Monday/Tuesday. Today, I noticed that the "pimple" was feeling really hot, but it wasn't painful or anything. My lips have also been pretty dry lately, so the pimple kind of dried out as well. I noticed this evening that it looked different than any other pimple I have gotten, so I started to freak out and put a hot pack on it, trying to pop it (I guess to make sure it was a pimple). This might sound gross and I apologize, but I was able to pop it a little bit, and it seemed to have popped just like a pimple. I have never had a cold sore before (that I can remember, anyway) so does this sound like a cold sore to you guys? I have been reading and cold sores don't normally pop like a pimple, right? Just clear, or yellow or bloody puss comes out, correct? And it would hurt more than a pimple? Do cold sores ever feel hot? I have been reading about the symptoms and it doesn't say anything about the cold sore feeling hot, just tingly and itchy. Also, cold sores take awhile to form and to ooze, and I've only had this tiny bump pimple since Monday. Thanks guys

Is it ok to put pimple cream on a cold sore?

The absolute best treatment is any cream containing 5%w/w Acyclovir. Acyclovir is an antiviral drug. Brand names here include Zovirax and Blistex. You put the cream on 5 times per day as soon as you feel the first tingle of a cold sore and it won't develop. It's brilliant! Look at this site for further information.

I don't know where you are but shop around, as I find Blistex is half the price of Zovirax and has exactly the same acyclovir content.

The difference between a cold sore and a pimple?

No I think this is an infected pore whereas a cold sore is caused by a virus that never leaves your body. I think your picking at it is making it much worse than it is. If it is staying in the same place each time that means it is pore related and not virus related. It probably started out as a whitehead or clogged pore and when you tried to squeeze it it got infected. I know having it on your lip it is very difficult to leave it alone but I think if you clean it properly every day and use something like neosporin at night it will heal in no time. Sometimes when the damaged pore heals it will still feel hard and you may want to pick at it but try to avoid this to minimize the irritation.

Can you use cold sore medicine on a pimple?

I have a red bump above my lip that looks like there’s a scabbed formed over it. I have no clue if it’s a cold sore or a pimple. It doesn’t itch bad or look like lots of little blisters but it doesn’t seem to have a white head like a pimple does. Anyone know?

Will cold sore cream work on pimples?

i have a bad pimple right under my nose on one side, its very painful, but it hasnt fully come up yet, i found some cold sore cream, will it work?? isnt it just anti bacterial stuff so if i put it on it will soak in and kill the bacteria?? will it work or not??
