Is This A Good Hair Growth Regimen Am I On My Way To Nice Long Hair

African american hair regimen?

Watch: Good Hair a documentary by Chris Rock 2009 on BET or HBO. According to Tyra Banks, 80% of the black population are part of the billion dollar hair industry. Clips on youtube videos, also.

Shampoo & condition the hair as usual, every 4-7 days, but continue to trim off the damaged hair, allowing new growth to take over. Use GENTLE shampoo. Applying a small drop amount of oil to wet hair can also act as a leave-in conditioner and provides excellent conditioning in preparation for the next shampooing.

Your hair is the most fragile of all hair types. They snap & break easily. So you need more TLCs than thin hair. No chemicals. No relaxers specially! No heating styling tools. Finger comb is best or use a wide tooth comb. Do what Oprah & Michelle Obama have been, going natural, using plastic curlers to set their hair. There's also a photo of her demonstrating her curlers on O, when she turned 60.
Use oil or conditioner to keep them moisturized. Heat & chemicals are your hair's worst enemies.

The hair of many black women is very fragile and studies have demonstrated that normal brushing and combing the hair can result in breakage. Brushing your hair 100-times a day is a no-no for your hair. Only comb and brush your hair to style it. Also avoid rubber bands or other implements that can physically cut into and break the hair shaft.

Google: Hair Styling and Hair Care NOT THE SAME. 4-8-13.

She talks exactly like I preach! She's got good natural hair savvy! Oprah have been natural for 20 years. I've been for 30 years!

Example from YA member! "I saw your answer you gave to someone and it made a lot of sense. I just went natural Sept 2012 and I need advice and/or help. Having too much info can never be too much. My mother told me the same thing, African American products have harsh chemicals in them…etc"

How can I lose weight AND grow out my hair at the same time?

Follow a strict diet, eat healthy grained food from the food chain, eat small portions of meals, wheat, fibers, vit A-E multi and Vit C added, you can lose weight by counting the calories you have to take in daily.
Hair grows 1/8 to 1/4" a week so 1/2 to 1" a month. If you exercise and eat properly you could see hair growing faster and longer like 11/4 in a month.(rare but have seen it happen)
Trim only the smallest amount of Hair to be trimmed till you reach your desired length. The keep trimmed straight across at waist length every 3-4 mo.
Use mane and tail followed by Show and Sheen. Don't believe me look a horses hair in the show arena and ask them what they used.
My wife and 3 other women grew their hair out, it was from waist length to 7-8 and 9' by following this procedure over a 6 year period 1973 to 1979.
With 111" of hair to take care, another child on the way, the wife said enough, I then cut it to a 3" clipper cut, selling the hair for $1,200. The other ladies cut their hair also as time went by.
One still has her hair to knee length and refuses to go shorter since 1973. (38 years)

Why does curly hair take longer to grow?

I am happy that your hair is virgin, That is a good start my daughter's hair is also virgin and here is what I do like every 6 months I would like to see the actual length I would hot comb it or either give her a wash and set. The heat that is coming from the blow dryer will make her have that straight look without really straighting it. The herbal shampoo that you are useing should work if you have been useing any product for three months and you see no results then stop useing that product because it may not be for your hair's texture. Regardless to which ever product that we use on the market it will not give us the requried length that you are looking for,and here is why when we eat food there are good proteins and bad protein and the bad ones can do things to our hair like make our hair grow slower than it normally would. This bad protein is called DHT and it is in everyone and that is what stops our growth. Here is your solution you can use a protein treatment called Aphogee and sit under the dyer with it. Start to get wash and sets once a week because a real beautican is suppose to know how to wash and set virgin hair and still make her hair look nice. Use this product and don't wash it out until you go and get your wrap let them use the shampoo and use the rest as directed but don't wash your hair every day. This may be a little expensive but it is worth it and you will see results in two weeks. This is the name of the product it is called Avacore and the other one is called Hairgenesis. I hope that I have helped you. oh and do not cut your hair but only once a year because you should not have split ends because you don't do nothing wrong to your hair.

Sl to apl help? any hair care regimen? and should i take follic acid for hair growth?

Okay I want to grow my hair sl to apl in like November/December. I have layers in my hair. Like to the side my hair is about 1 or 2 inches away from apl. My back needs 4 and 5 inches to go. I take biotin. I use castor oil (it really works, one inch in a month) and I'm about to start using mane n tail shampoo and conditioner. Thinking about taking follic acid, should I? I drink water a lot. I am an African American female with healthy Natural hair. And also its in my genes to have long hair. I guess my mom didn't know proper hair care (terrible). Lol but please help me out its not really IMPOSSIBLE at all since I started using castor oil.
