Good diet/workout plan for 15 year old male?

Hello I am 15 years of age and weigh 230. I am very unsatisfied with how i look and it is messing with my social life. I am 5'11 and have very wide shoulders if that has to do with anything. I also have a very bad exercise plan. Im in shape but have very bad habits. Although I do swim 5 or more times a week. I really need some help and have done some research. I think that i would be able to handle a low carb diet but i need help making a day by day plan. Both for eating and exercising. For exercise i have a stationary bike, weight bench, and a punching at my disposal. Please help me out.

As far as what exercises you do, you want to combine strength training with cardio. Try to exercise two to three times a week at first for at least 30 minutes, and then build your endurance up to three to four days. Training for a 5k race can be a fun way to get in shape and reach a goal also!

I feel your pain! I'm seventeen and overweight and i just started working out and eating healthy three weeks ago and ive lost 11 pounds so far and have never felt better both physically and emotionally. What I've done is count calories (not exact but an estimate) so I know about how much Ive eaten I try to stay at about 1200 on a good day and 1700 on a bad one. By counting, out of necessity Ive starting eating a lot more fruits and vegetables because they keep me fully longer without using up my daily calorie allowance and after doing it for a two weeks you get used to it and sugary, greasy foods don't feel as good as veggies when you eat them =].

Ive started swapping out my bad habit foods for healthier choices for example egg and bacon breakfast for an egg white veggie omelet, chips for lightly salted rice cakes, regular soda for diet soda or sparkling water and ice cream for frozen yogurt.

Another thing Ive started doing is exercising a lot more. Before when I would try to work out I would overdo it the first day and end up too sore and tired to workout for a while after but now I try to keep my workouts to half an hour straight on the elliptical or treadmill everyday. Making it consistent really helps the weight loss and I motivate myself on bad days by thinking that half an hour a day is just giving up one tv show for weight loss which isnt a bad tradeoff =]
