What is a good exercise plan for a 19 year old female?
The more details the better! What is a good exercise plan for a 19 year old girl?? I have a gym right across the street from my apartment and I want to take full advantage! Yesterday I did the treadmill for 18 minutes (15 minute run, 3 minute cool down) I had the incline set to '2.0' and was going 6.0 mph for at least 10 of my 15 minute jog. Then I did the eliptical for 8 minutes (5 work out 3 cool down) And then I did the '"bike" for 10, minutes and then a 3 minute cool down. (I dont know if it was really the bike it was in the row with them, except you sat back in the seat, and had a back rest and peddled) Help! I want to tone my muscles up and lose weight too!
I am 17 years old 5'0 tall and I weigh 205 pounds. I need to lose at least 60 pounds in 3 months. Help Please!
don't set unrealistic goals. at best, the average weight loss is 2 #/week. that would be 24 pounds in the 3 months. try a structured program such as weightwatchers.com or www.self.com self diet club or seeing a registered dietician www.eatright.org
How long should it take to safely lose 30 pounds? What are some tips for doing so?
Best to provide you with some basics on weight loss first:As I’m sure you already know, if you consume less calories (from your food and drink) than your body needs, your body will burn up fat to try and make up the difference - it requires energy for daily maintenance. Slowly, you’ll lose weight. One pound of body fat is equal to approx 3,500 calories, ok.The recomended safe rate of weight loss is to aim to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. After doing some quick maths, this means you need to eat at least 500 calories less per day than you do now. What’s the catch? If your dietary nutrition is out of the window, i.e. awful - then either you need to burn off way more than 500 calories per day to kick start your weight loss, or you need to make some serious changes to what you eat!If you head over to any online Calorie Calculator, or use an app, these can usually tell you a couple of important things (based on your current activity levels):Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)Your BMR is the number of calories required by your body to keep functioning at rest. The number of calories you’ll need to burn in order to safely lose 1 or 2 pounds per week.Remember though, these are just estimates which give you a defined goal to work towards. How long will it take?Well, let’s say you work on losing no more than 2 pound per week, it will take you approx 15 weeks (3–4 months) to lose 30 pounds of weight. This is assuming you have a healthy diet and some exercise in place! What are some good tips for losing 30 pounds of weight?Review your dietary nutrition!Add some regular exercise to your weekly regimeIf your current diet (i.e. what you eat & drink) is pants, then first and foremost, take a good look at what you are eating!Swap out 1 unhealthy choice per week with a healthy choice - Repeat!Increase your intake of Fruit & VegHydrate well by drinking plenty of waterIncrease the amount of protein & healthy fats you eat (Helps keep you feeling fuller)Reduce/cut-out all white carbs - such as sweets, cakes etcReduce beige carbs - such as white bread, pasta, rice, potatoes etcEat more smaller meals at regular intervals throught the dayAdd some exercise into your weekly regime!Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise per dayTake the stairs, walk/cycle to workExercise before, during or after work - as long as you do somethingGo for a speed walk at lunchtimeJoin a sports club - play tennis, go swimmingBuy yourself a fitness watch to keep tabs!Hope this helps :-)
Can a 58-year old-man lose 60 pounds on a no-carbohydrate diet in 10 weeks? I weigh 360 lbs and I’m 6 ft. I need to fit into an economy coach seat by September 28.
I would agree with most other posts, while it may be possible, for many reasons it’s not the best approach nor a healthy one. I was 50 pounds overweight about a year ago, and over the course of a year lost that, please a few pounds (my buffer zone) and built muscle mass which helped with at the same time reducing the extra skin that comes with being overweight, which is also a challenge for someone this age (I’ll be turning 59 this year). My tips are:Weigh yourself everydayTrack your calorie in-take daily limit (there are many apps that help make this a no-brainer task).Learn to read labels, nix all saturated fats, for me, I don’t buy anything with more than a few ingredients and ones that I can’t pronounce.Do not exceed what your age/height/sex recommended calorie limit is - for me about 2000 per day.Exercise enough to burn off at least half, if not more than what your daily calorie limit is. This is easier to do than you might think, mine was more walking.Cut out the bad stuff (hardest thing to do) for me this was cutting out drinking during the week, specially wine, I’m a wine lover.Best of luck!
Can I lose 50 pounds in 8 months?
hey there :) just wanted to send some encouragement to you! im 21, 5'4 and 180 lbs. i really want to be 130 by july. i have a slow metabolism due to some health issues... but hopefully it can happen within the next 10 months! im going to be a bridesmaid next summer-- so that's helping me stay motivated! i'm trying to exercise and count my calories (1300-1500 on days when i don't exercise and 1500-1700 calories on days i do exercise). my exercise consists of 30-45 mins. of cardio, 100 crunches (i'll increase once i gain strength), and lifting multiple sets of a rep of 15, using 5-7.5 lb. weights (focusing on biceps and triceps). also, 2 days per month, i let myself eat what i want. it may throw off some, but it helps keep me sane. otherwise, i'd want to quit. it may take a bit longer to reach your goal doing this-- but i've found it has worked for me in the past (i.e.: im still able to get back on track and lose weight). good luck to you! i hope we both succeed :)
