This begging to my short novel about my late dog and I.

I've been laying here pondering about my late love dog Sadieloubiscuitmomma love dog, Trudy for short. I recall the countless hours I spent caressing her true blue belly. The feeling was truly indescribable comeing from both parties when she would do the biscuit roll and cook criconts of love my heart sumersaulted from the sun to the moon over and over again. Hour after hour was productively spent working my hand in a circular motion up and down the soft hair brissels of her fur.

Is this essay a good start,on a short story?

Much literature deals with a character’s ability to persevere, in the face of hardship. It is the manner in which the person deals with conflict which illustrates her stamina or lack of it. In the short story, “Brooms for Sale,” Thomas Raddall, unveiled the character Greta, who never gave up no matter how rough things got. Being poor, is never easy and it sure wasn’t easy for Greta. Greta spent hours doing chores around the house and then would spend night after night making brooms for extra income for her son. Even though Greta worked so hard it was never for her, she was always thinking of her son. No matter how tough things got Greta wouldn’t give up, she continued to work hard and kept going. Greta’s willingness to never give up made her sustain herself and her son, and it was that will that made her perform actions, which were only found common amongst the opposite gender as stated “barn needed repair, the fences were falling down....The crops were smaller but Greta would not giv

Should I start a short story blog?

Depends on your purpose for publishing them. If you'd like to be a published author some day, it might be wise to work both the blog and the short story site in parallel. Publish one different stories on each or your blog might be rated poorly on google ranking and so never found in searches.

If you intend to be a published author some day, it's important these days that you establish a web presence. Having a blog where you post your short stories could be a very good way to do that. Publishing them also on a well known short story site can help drive traffic to your blog--and traffic is what you want on your blog--you want thousands of hits every month.

You haven't told us what sort of short stories you want to post. Some sites take all, some only in one or two genres. That said, check the sites like http://www.fictionpress.com/ and http://www.wattpad.com/ and http://inkpop.com/ If your stories are any good--depending on your genre--check out http://www.baen.com/ and writing contests.

How do I start writing short stories?

Begin with a story. Write it down. It's that simple and that complicated.LOTS of writers HATE their first drafts and will not show them to anyone. That's why they're called "first drafts". Because there will be second, third, fourth and more drafts. Forget about "perfect". There is no such thing. There is only "satisfactory to you". Show what you're happy with to other people who write, trade notes and critiques, take the suggestions you think are worthwhile and use them, discard the ones you don't find value in. It's your story and you are the only one who can tell it.I suggest you start with a story from your own life. It could be about something a relative taught you that had an appreciable impact on your life later, or the first time you triumphed over a fear you had.A story needs conflict to be interesting. What conflict are you writing about? Is it about how your relative's advice helped you to navigate a moral quandary (the conflict), or is it about how you engaged in a battle against your own fear (the conflict) to accomplish a goal or grow in some other way?Do you have a theme in mind? A theme is what you want to state as an idea to the reader, without being stated explicitly. It might be "Grandparents have a lot to teach us about the present" or "Unknown fears are worse than known fears". You'll have to make this theme clear through use of narrative and it can be tricky. You won't have to invent characters since they already exist in your life (you can rename them), and the events can simply be re-told in a simple narrative style. Be descriptive with feelings, smells, colors. A reader should ideally be able to sense what you were sensing as you tell the story. And, the more honest you are, the more likely you are to be able to connect with readers, since humans have a lot of experiences in common even though their backgrounds may be very different. Honesty tends to bridge the superficial gaps.Start with a first draft. Re-write it. Re-write it again. Keep re-writing until the story says exactly what you had intended it to say. But do it. That's the only way to really begin.
