How Do I make Steam Install Games On My External Hard Drive?
So, I'd like to make steam install games on my external hard drive as my Macbook doesn't have too much space. I've only got 285 gig free out of 499, and I need to give the partition I'm going to make at least 150. If anyone has any informative links or tips to give me, I would greatly appreciate it.

What is an external hard drive?
I understand that it is something that holds more memory for your computer, but where do you put it? Is it something you hook up to your computer, or is it something that you insert into your computer, and take it out when you don't need it anymore? I just learned about this today, so i barely know anything about this! Also... I have a macbook, and i was wondering what kind of external hard drive would work really well for that? Please add any information that I might need to know so that i'm not as clueless about this as i am now. Thanks in advance!
Where do I put my third internal hard drive?
I have a Dell Precision 490 and want to add a third internal hard drive. Right now I have two 250Gb hard drive installed. I need a third as my storage space is getting small. There is a plug to install a third hard drive, but no slot to put it into. It's a little bit cramped inside, but I can put the third hard drive inside. Question is: Can I put the drive anywhere just "floating" in my desktop? Where would be the best place to put it? Thanks

Hi, All drives are 2.5" standard for laptops, and 3.5" for desktops. The only thing you need to be aware of that some 2.5" drives have a dual platter design which adds 3mm to the thickness of the drives (9.7mm vs 12.7mm). Thankfully the drives that are affected are all the 1TB sized laptop drives and a western digital scorpio blue 750GB. The one you selected will fit in your computer just fine ;)
Should I replace my 2012 MacBook with hard drive problems or just replace the hard drive?
unless this is somehow an IDE model, then a new hard drive ought to work wonders unless your being held back by SATA I. then the bus/lane speed gain might be worth it. if your just browser the internet, a new drive is the least expensive option. a new 7200rpm or ssd ought to make it feel like a new machine.here are reasons you might replace the entire notebooklightness, cpu/ram/ssd, latest OS, bus speed, HDD capacity, better AC wireless options,but worst case scenario is $150 HDD with install and restore vs $1500 for the cheapest mac laptop amiright?
