Is This A Polite Response

What's a polite response to "whatever"?

I don't like that response, either. The comment means that my remarks/comments are of no value.
So, I think an appropriate and polite response would be - "By your last response, I am assuming you agree with me." And, see what happens.

Or, respond with "Whatever, what?" Not so polite, but it gets the message across.

Polite response to "Oh, you're just a baby!"?

Hi all. This has been nagging at me for some time, but it just got provoked again recently. I find that when I have told a couple of older women my age, they respond, "Oh, you're just a baby!" The first woman was only 5 years older, and the second woman is about 15+ years older. I am turning 27 this month. I actually find this condescending, not complimentary, and am looking for a good way to respond to this besides "heh heh...yeah...I guess..." I'm not a baby. I'm a grown woman. I have been independant since age 18. I am college-educated, smart, successful, and financially secure. I resent being called a baby by (probably well-meaning) older women!

How to write a "brief" and "polite" e-mail to response for a schedule of meeting/appointment with a professor/boss?

Keep it simple and friendly. Along the lines of 'Dear (insert name), Thank you for the opportunity to attend a job interview and for indicating your availability. I would be able to meet with you (insert date/time). Please confirm our appointment time, I look forward to meeting with you soon. Regards (insert your name).'

What do you think is the most polite response if you are spontaneously invited to come in to dinner by close friends?

What do you think is the most polite response if you are spontaneously invited to come in to dinner by close friends? We are couples in our mid-30s. My spouse and I dropped something off at our friends' house at 8 pm. One spouse enthusiastically invited us to stay for dinner. The other spouse neither opposed the invite nor encouraged us to stay. My spouse felt it was rude to stay. I thought it was rude not to.Simple, go with the spouse who was doing the cooking — or in charge of the cooking. That’s the one who knows how much food is available. You said it was “close friends” so that means they both like you, right? You only want to avoid them not having enough to share.

What is a polite business response to clients who cancel appointments because a relative is ill?

I believe I would write something like,“Thank you very much for letting me know. Of course I understand your need to cancel our appointment.I am sending my best wishes to you and your and I look forward to rescheduling our appointment at a future date that is convenient to you.”However, what you have written in your answer details is perfectly acceptable, and less formal than my submission. I guess it depends on your relationship to the client and what industry you’re in.

What is the polite way to ask someone to respond to an unanswered text question?

You gonna answer or what?Okay, maybe that's not very polite. You could just send it again. Maybe something like this:I sent this last night, but my carrier has been dropping messages and I'm not sure if you got it so I'm sending it again to be safe.

What's the polite response to someone telling you that their wife's in labor?

Congrats and good luck! If you know them pretty well, I generally add “I hope everything is uneventful” as with travel, most anything other than a kinda boring delivery means something went wrong.
