Why do I keep doing stupid things?
You probably need more sleep. It could be that more than one thing affected you at once, for the worst possible symptoms. What you eat and drink can affect you as well. I also do stupid things like lock myself out of my car or house when I'm upset about something or going into a bout of depression. It's frustrating, I know. Just remember that it's temporary and fixable and you're not really stupid at all. Stuff like this happens to everyone. Even the people who appear to you to be perfect, make stupid mistakes sometimes. I guarantee it.

How to stop yourself from doing something stupid?
That's a really hard situation... I feel the best thing for you would be to find yourself a girl, which can be tough yes, but maybe is shes a good friend she'd help you? Just ask her if she knows any girls that might be interested in meeting you.... On the other hand, maybe if you told her how you feel she'd hear you out and maybe give you a chance, you never know, she may be having boyfriend problems.... I know what it's like to like a best friend, and I know what it's like to see them with someone else and know they don't like you back, like you want to rip your heart out of your chest and throw it at them.... It's tough, but if shes a true friend she could help you through it. Females are naturally caring and want to help others, and I'm sure she would help you. If not, just ask around. Invite a bunch of people, mainly girls out somewhere, and just try to have a good time, and maybe you'll realize shes not the girl of your dreams after all. It is saying that when a man who isn't very bright is doing something shameful...he always blames it on duty. He will say that he had to do it...because he isn't intelligent enough to actually think it through and figure out the reason he is doing the thing he is doing. Its saying that stupid men use duty as an excuse for doing shameful things...thereby absolving themselves of responsibility for their actions.

Find more acceptable things to do with your time. To be frank this is a failure on your part if you cannot manage this. Stupid things are thus because you can logically determine that they are stupid things to do.You require of yourself not to do stupid things. You decide your actions, no one else. Choose to do something intelligent and reject things that are not. Pure and simple to consider and execute.
