Is This Concept Comprehensible

"The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is comprehensible"-explain?

I think it means that everything about the universe is knowable. No matter how esoteric or mathematically complicated or counter-intuitive, it can all be figured out.

Actually, I disagree with this, as I suspect Neils Bohr would, also. Maybe that was one of the subjects of their debates.

Edit: Ah, beach bum, I knew this rang a bell and I was skeptical about the quote. Now I remember. You're right.

So Einstein was acknowledging that there is no cosmic entitlement for us to be able to understand much of anything: for example, the distance to stars beyond our ability to do parallax measurement. Lo and behold, we discovered the period luminosity relationship of certain kinds of bright variable stars. That didn't *have* to be the case. Then we discovered the expansion and the Hubble constant. If the universe was steady state, we would have no way of knowing the distance to quasars. Much of the same is true about physics on the micro level, as well as chemistry and biology.

Basically, he was marveling at the order we find in the universe and our ability to come up with clever ways to understand the things and phenomena we see. He might have even entertained the notion of a divine creator who created the universe in such a way that intelligent beings could discover all of its secrets.

"The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is comprehensible"-Meaning?

Nature is so amazingly organised that it is impossible for us to accept the idea of its simplicity. It is even difficult to prove.. So the most unbelievable thing is that the universe is easier to understand than we think..

Is infinity comprehensible?

Yes. infinity is comprehensible. First of all, its only of use in mathematics. It does not exist in the physical universe. Even 1+1+1+ does not go on forever. because no person, or civilization could count forever, because they would eventually die out in a few billion years, and the counting would stop. You can prove to yourself that the infinity of mathematics, does not work in the real physical universe. For example, we are all told in elementary geometry, that a straight line, from point A to point B, has an infinite amount of points or places on it. Now if your house is point A, and the corner store is point B, how is it possible to get there in 5 minutes. It should take you an infinite amount of time, to traverse the infinite amount of places. Even the universe is not infinite. The universe had a beginning, and it will have an end, and there will be no more of anything. I apologize to the everlasting, lifers.

What about black holes you ask? There was an article in Astronomy magazine, which stated that black holes, may not exist, and may actually be black stars, and not be infinitely dense. Also the formulas only say that density, in a black hole, approach's' infinity, it doesn't actually attain it.

Here is some more proof. Richard Feynman, the famous physicist, had a problem once with one of his formulas. I forget the details, but the Quantum formula, only worked properly, if he removed the 'infinite', aspect of it, much to his surprise.

So relax, the concept of infinity, is only a tool, for representing, large 'theroretical' numbers, or concepts. At any rate, this is how I, have come to terms, with the troubling problem of infinity.

Can you comprehend the understanding of meaning?

Yes. I can even phrase the question in a comprehensible manner.
