Is this considered bulimia?

yes it probably is because you're still doing it to yourself but instead of using your hands you're using your stomach muscles to do it. But you're still doing it for weightloss.

however if it's happening on it's own without you even wanting it too it wouldn't be bulimia but some other serious medical condition. Either way you need to go and see your doctor. Good luck!

Some yogi's practice food reguritation because they believe it to cleanse the stomach. They do not use it as weight control, or use it to habitually "make up" for over-eating. And at that it is a controversial practice.

But what you describe sounds unhealthy. If you keep it up you will ruin your health - your nervous system as well as your digetive system. You have more to worry about than just possible ulcers of the stomach and esophagus and rotten teeth. Because when you vomit, you are causing electrolyte imbalences. That can cause almost any possible health problem including instant death in some more extreme cases. But even if it is not that extreme, it messes up your potassium/sodium levels which will harm your health temporarily and if you keep it up - permanently. Could cause brain damage.

Only a doctor can diagnose you, it would be good to seek medical attention. Because, what would cause you to do such a thing? There are underlying psychological/emotional issues that make you want to do it. You need to address those or even if you stop vomiting you will move on to another self destructive habit most likely.

But yes, probably bulimia caused by underlying "issues."

Take care and have a nice day.

It is still considered bulimia if?

Bulimia: Also called bulimia nervosa. An eating disorder characterized by episodes of secretive excessive eating (binge-eating) followed by inappropriate methods of weight control, such as self-induced vomiting (purging), abuse of laxatives and diuretics, or excessive exercise. The insatiable appetite of bulimia is often interrupted by periods of anorexia.

^^ that is the definition of bulimia so basically if you through up, then its stilled considered bulimia. I really hope you can healthily step away from this problem. Good luck! :))

That’s pretty much the definition of it as i know it, bulimia is a cycle of binge - purge, so basically you binge - eat too much, and then you feel the need to purge. For example in my case i would rarely purge if i ate little, i would only do it when i had eaten a lot and felt guilty about it. Or the even worse part, i would at times indulge in overeating knowing i would throw up afterwards anyway. So yeah, its bulimia, and you should seek out some help for that. It’s really a downward spiral.

I have been through both of these eating disorders and it isn’t good. If in fact you are going through these disorders, you need to tell someone. I made the mistake of waiting almost too long to tell someone. Anorexia nervosa is an eating and emotional disorder that makes you want to lose weight fast and in an unhealthy way. Bulimia nervosa is a serious eating disorder in which you avoid all weight gain by binging or eating a lot of food and then purging or making yourself throw up afterwards. I would advise you to tell someone, preferably your parents or an adult you trust.

No. Both are serious medical conditions.Bulimia nervosaAnorexia nervosa If you or someone close to you is suffering from either, or you suspect you/they might be, get (them) professional help.A physician to assess and treat physical damage that might already have been done, a psychotherapist with experience in the field to work on overcoming the underlying issues, and, optimally, a good self-help group to give support and reassurance during what can be a long and difficult journey. These conditions are not to be taken lightly, and can actually be fatal.Standard disclaimer: I’m not a medical professional in any shape or form, nor do I play one on TV.

When is bulimia considered sevre?

So I've been purging for 6 years now but have officially had bulimia for 2 years. In august alone, I've binged and purged a total of 36 times. It's gotten to the point where I have purged so much, I don't even have to stick my fingers down my throat, the food just comes up. All I think about is food and being skinny and losing weight and whether or not I'm going to eat today or purge today. It's literally all I can think about. My teeth are yellow and sensitive, I have 8 fillings, all my money goes on food or the dentist, I have no social life or confidence, I get cold sores all the time, my skin is borderline grey, my throat is constantly burning and after I purge, I get shaky and have chest pains.

I want to get helped but I'm so scared that they will say they can't help me or will just try to give me drugs. I've read bulimia is considered serve when the person suffering b/p multiple times a day(like 10+).

No one has clue. I told my best friend a couple of months ago when I was drunk and we never spoke of it again until recently. He said he was worried about me but I told him I was fine and that everything is the past. He believed me which i thought was good because obviously I don't want him to worry about me but now I'm scared that if I tell someone else I will regret telling them and then end up lying and saying I'm fine now so I will never get help.
What shall I do? Even thinking about the doctors gives me anxiety. Anyone had any past bulimia experiences on here?

Would this be considered an eating disorder?

Are you still trying to lose weight? Because even if you are you should be eating the right amount of calories for your age. If you want to lose weight you should eat the right amount of calories by eating healthy food and doing more excercise. 1000 calories a day sounds like not enough though. Speak to your GP about you weight/ eating habits if you are worried. (if you want to work out the amount of calories you should be eating each day go to http://www.loseweightfit.com/how-many-calories-should-i-eat-a-day/)

So ive been throwing up for about 4 years now. In high school i use to do it 4 to 6 times a day.. it was pretty bad. over the summer i had to go to the doctor because i have irregular periods. They ran a lot of tests and I found out that i had a lot of vitamin deficiecies. I also had to get a shot of iron. The doctor found a heart murmur that was new to me. That kinda made me a little nervous so I cut back a lot. I only throw up 1-3 times a day now.. like i feel like i barely do it now. I dont even do it after everything i eat now which is weird for me. I mean I dont want to be completely unhealthy, but i dont want to be fat either. I was diagnosed with EDNOS over the summer.. it was weird actually hearing it. I dont knw if i want this anymore. but i dont want to stop either
