Is This Hair Too Long For A Mom In Her 40s

Why is my mom losing her hair?

My Mother is losing her hair she is in her late 40's and has a few nickle sized bald spots on her head and the hair is also thinning, my grandmother (her mom) ended up doing the same thing in her 30's or so due to stressing out over a job lisence test she had to take. anything she can do or.. any ideas? also is this going to happen to me? i really take care of my hair like its silk.. so yeah..

Can blonde hair darken over time?

yes, most blondes darken over time. most darken at puberty. some darken in their early 20s. the rest tend to darken in their 40s & then they start going gray. a few will keep their blonde hair their entire lives but they aren't many.

how dark they get depends on their genetics. My mother's & brother's hair darkened to a light brown in their late teens (they were both about 17 or 18 when their hair darkened). My aunt's hair didn't darken until she was in her late 40s. she started bleaching it when the gray started turning up. I have many cousins with blonde hair & their hair has also darkened as they've aged. some still have blondish hair but they are aware that it will continue to get darker as they get older.

their hair does lighten back to their youthful blonde when they spend a lot of time out in the sun.

very few blondes keep their blonde into old age unaided.

if your family's tendency is for the hair to darken then yours will darken too.

Why is it that, once women turn 40, they cut their hair to their shoulders?

Basically because their hairdresser convinces them to, although it is a bit more complex than that. It is the onset of mutually dependent relationship between woman and hairstylist that no man shall put asunder. Obviously all this a generalisation, there are plenty of women over 40 with long hair, but there is a typical cycle that many women go through. Dating in their early twenties, mid-twenties to late twenties they have children. During those years a lot of women tend to forget about themselves a lot. They're mums, the hair cuts they used to get every 6 weeks now be come every 6 months. Even if they had the time for more hair cuts, they can't always afford them not when baby needs a new pair of Nikes. Elastic bands to tie their hair become their best friends. Then their children become a bit older, they have time to breath. They finally have time to take a real look into the mirror and they see an echo of who they once were. Their hair colour is dull, it is unstyled and to save time they scrape it back into a pony-tail. They have to face that they're not the hot young thing they were. They want to feel attractive again, they want to feel good, they want to recapture that excitement of looking in the mirror and thinking 'yeah I look good'. So they go to their hairdresser. "Do whatever you want, I want to look different!" And the hairdresser always says the same thing - 'if you're always tying your hair back, you might as well cut it shorter, it is a lot easier to maintain'. This is the biggest myth in the hair world. Mid to short hair is so much higher maintenance to look good than long hair (assuming both are cut well). And shoving it back into a pony tail or bun is as low maintenance as it gets. The hairdresser of course knows this style is high maintenance. They also know that the mid-to-short length style means regular repeat custom, for this reason they will also convince her to have 'some warm streaks to liven it up'. Also the style they do doesn't really matter, because at that point the woman has no style in her hair. So any bit of attention given to her hair is going to make her look miles better. The woman looks at herself, she has shiny well-styled hair, the affair between her and hairdresser has now commenced.

Grey hairs at 22??? whats goin on?

Is it normal to start finding grey hairs at my age (22) i mean we are only talking a few (about a dozen of them ive found so far)
And they are definetly grey!! my dad turned grey in his early to mid 40s, my mom in her early 50s, should i be worried?

Why is my naturally blonde hair turning brown?

age, you're getting old.

as blondes age their hair gets darker and turns that dishwater not quite blonde but not really brown color then eventually it turns gray or silver.

you would be able to have your hair bleached back to it's color when you were younger and no one would be able to tell you had your hair colored.

edit:
my mother's and my brother's darkened when they became teens. Mom bleached her hair to keep it the color of her youth and my brother just goes out into the sun and he's blonde again.

my aunt's (mom's sister) hair didn't start darkening until she was in her 40s, she left it alone until last year when she started getting gray streaks (she's in her early 60s now). She's highlighting her hair now and it looks blonde again.

Can I predict by looking at my parents when my hair will turn grey?

Greying hair is determined by genes, so you will have to ask your parents about their experiences with this phenomenon. My own hair does not have anything in common with either of my parents, so for me greying came when it decided to come, I had no one to reference at that point. My kid’s hair follows my husband’s - and at 45, he is yet to show any signs of ageing. On the other hand, I have quite many grey hairs which thankfully blend in with the rest of my blonde base, so I don’t need to retreat to hair coloring madness.

Do white hair causes your head to itch?

My mother plucks out the white strands of hair off her head (well, she makes me do it for her) because she says it itches a lot. Is that at all possible?! Or is my mother just using that as an excuse to rid her white hair just so she would'nt seem and feel old (she's like in her early 40's). And if you start getting rid of those white strands of hair would more start growing?

And also, I've tried giving her them anti-itch shampoo and conditioners but she won't take them. She thinks that they won't do any better.

Help! I wanna know if this is true or not! coz its pissing me off! i cant be assed to pluck her effin hair out! ***** waste of time!

oh, and what causes you to have white hair anyway? other than aging... would stress be another reason why that happens?

thnx in advanced...
