Is bleaching harmful to skin?

Hello.Every bleaching product contains two main chemicals, Hydroquinone and mercury, both are toxic. Hydroquinone is a chemical used for photo processing and hair dyes. Mercury is a carcinogen. These products both work in the short term to lighten the skin by stopping the production of melanin in the body. The more melanin you have in your body, the darker your skin.Doctors suggest that the two toxic chemicals, Hydroquinone and mercury, react with ultraviolet rays and lead to more pigmentation and premature aging. The more this product is used, the less melanin the body produces, and this leads to an increased risk for skin cancer. Also, continued use of hydroquinone, will roughen the skin, making it look like an uneven patch of colors with a spotted appearance.People who bleach their skin to lighten their skin tone are believed to silently suffer from low self-esteem. Before attempting to use skin-whitening products, we suggest you to ask yourself if it is worth the risk! You could follow us on Quora for more health updates.

Is super glue harmful on your skin?

It may irritate the skin by heat of exothermic reaction. If the spill of superglue is really heavy it may burn the skin as it will generate considerable heat on contact with the water vapor in the air and moisture inside the skin. The glue has no lasting toxic effects and in fact has been used in some medical application for temporarily sealing skin. The worst hazard of the glue is obvious, it sticks skin together very hard. You may be able to gently pry the glued skin apart with the help of vegetable oil, butter and then soaking your glued skin in very warm to almost hot water. If it’s a major glue accident with significant skin bonding you need to go to hospital emergency where they doctor may need to gently cut apart the glued skin while avoiding cutting under your skin.

Is toothpaste harmful to skin? Can I use toothpaste to wash my face?

Ever used toothpaste to wash your face before? Well, i use it and well.. it's quite nice.. my face doesnt seem that oily anymore (my skin is the oily type).. In fact, it's seems better now.. How did i know of this 'weird' method? A friend of mine told me once that his neighbour used to have pimply face, then he started using toothpaste to wash his face, and now his face is now cleared up. Anyway, i'm not sure about u people but for me, it's quite good. I wash using toothpaste once per day. (same method as using a normal cleanser, put some on the palm and spread it evenly, before rubbing on ur face.) My face is oily and sensitive. But after using the toothpaste, it's not so oily. and not that sensitive anymore. Washing with toothpaste gives u a very very cooling sensation.. Maybe that's the reason why pimples can disappear.. Well, u can try it and see if it works.. p/s: i'm not responsible if anything undesirable happens..lol...but i can swear that i like using it. It gives a much cleaner feel and it cools up the skin... erm...give it a go if u'd like to.. (Colgate is preferable)

Can nail glue harm skin?

It should be fine. It wont hurt your skin, because even when you put fake nails on sometimes the glue gets on the cuticles and skin. Just try it out, it might not hold the fake piercing on for long, So if it doesnt fall off, when you want to take it off dont force it. Use warm water, or nail polish remover on a q-tip gently try to get it off, if it doesnt want to come off then wait it will fall off soon.

Is Vaseline harmful for my baby?

I understand that we want to use fewer petroleum products, but is it actually harmful to use on my baby's skin? She has eczema and her doctor recommended I use it as a lotion. It really, really works, and it's dirt cheap. I have very little money, but I try to buy green products that go on her skin.

Please tell me that vaseline is okay to use as a lotion. I know it's not great, but if it isn't a proven carcinogenic, I think I'll keep using it.

Thanks for the help.

Is it harmful to use perfume on skin?

Hey Softy,Thanks for A2A!I have a question for you, beauties: where exactly do you apply your perfume each day? Now, I know this is a complete stab in the dark, but I’m going to guess that most of you answered one or all of the following: “On my neck, décolletage and behind my ears, Cherie.”And if so, I would most likely respond by gasping in horror. Yes, horror. Why? Your favourite juice is likely to contain alcohol, you see, which when applied to your exposed skin during daylight hours, causes it to be come oh-so-photosensitive to sunlight. This means your skin is more likely to suffer from sunburn, leading to wrinkles, pigmentation and possibly even skin cancer. (Now you understand the gasping in horror, right? Right.)Grand ideas for safe fragrance applicationSpray your perfume onto your wrists. (Just don’t rub them together – this bruises the notes, altering the scent.) Or, squirt your delicious smelling juice onto the skin under your clothes. (Avoid spraying it onto your actual clothes – fragrance can stain fabrics!) Heat helps emit the perfume from your body, so any bendy body parts like your inner elbows and knees are also wonderful places. Oh, and spritzing your fragrance on your hair does leave a lovely lingering scent, but the alcohol can also dry out your strands so be wary when doing so.Sidenote: obviously you can go bonkers with your fragrance on your exposed areas at night, but it’s better to learn good habits now, and just avoid these body parts no matter what time of the day it is. You’ll still smell sensational, but you’ll be keeping your skin healthy, glowing and even-toned for longer.SOURCE:Think before you spritz…

Is markers harmful to draw on skin? fake tattoos?

Ink pens and permanent markers are NOT the way to go.
Crayola won't kill you, kids color themselves all the time....Not sure about Expo's. Why not try talking to local tattoo shops? Sometimes they draw the tat before going at it with the gun and may have some suggestions for you. Have you tried Henna (sp?) tattoo's? I wonder if there is a way to create your own....? Something else to possibly look into would be body paint. Most of them are made to come off pretty quickly though, so I don't know if this will work for you or not but there may be something out there designed to last a little longer.

Is fabric paint harmful to your skin? i am tellign you?

Acrylic paint is totally safe and not a problem ("fabric paint" is just regular acrylic paint with something like clear acrylic paint called "textile medium" in it to make it more supple when dry). It's basically the same thing as PVA glue (like Elmers Glue All, etc) and people use that all the time to remove blackheads/etc from their skin (by letting it dry on their skin, then peeling off).

If you have any color left on your skin that isn't simply very slight irritation from pulling something off of it, it's likely a bit of stain from a pigment in the paint that isn't the highest quality. Again, no problem.
