Im 16 years old and I'm dating a 14 year old girl. I'll be turning 17 years old in November and she will be turning 15 years old in November. My mom wont let us date because she doesn't want me to get in trouble with the law for statutory rape. But our relationship is non-sexual.

Your friend is an idiot. However it is not illegal to go in a girl if she doesn't want you to. If she consents to the sex it is legal. Once she lets you in you can legally do about anything including going in her. Not to mention it would be impossible to prove that he broke the condom intentionally. In some states if she lets you in and then tells you to stop and you don't, its not considered rape. You can keep going until your done, there is nothing she can do, other then try to push you off. I don't agree with it but thats how the law works.

In the second case, ignorance of the consequences of what one is doing might make a difference in which specific crime it is, but ignorance of the legality of what one is doing does not make it legal.If your lawyer advised you incorrectly you may have a malpractice claim, or at least you can ask them for a "my bad". I have started a business and would like to promote it via less costly advertising and I thought that it would be a good idea to hang flyers about my business on utility poles around the neighborhood. I am affraid that this might be illegal and subject me to criminal/civil penalties.
