Is This Normal When Running

Is it normal to feel sleepy after running?

The answer to this question largely depends on the length, distance, and history of your runs. It also comes down to the food you’re eating. (This next sentence is for all readers) If you’ve ever ran a marathon, then you’ve experienced the exhaustion your body is going through. You will, undoubtedly, sleep well. Your body will beg you for sleep and it will shut you down for hours. This is true for any long run that takes a tremendous amount of energy from you. But, your question can be a bit misleading. Are you sleepy immediately after your run. If this is true, then I would agree with most of the responders - you shouldn’t feel “sleepy”. Tired, maybe, but not sleepy. In fact, you should feel awake and alert. The adrenaline in your body should be rushing through you veins.Think about your own question a bit more, and if you feel sleepy soon after a run it could be a nutrition issue as Aarti Ohri and Shaik Mohammad Suraj mentioned in their responses. But, if you’re eating right and hydrating properly and you’re still tired, it could be a neurological issue with your endorphins and serotonin levels.

What is the normal temp of a running 5.7L V8 engine?? At what temp does damage occur??

No that sounds right. The computer has to have it about that hot so the thermostat opens up at the right time. If it runs to cool your gas mileage will drop. If it hits the red you have problems. My 4.3 runs at about 220.

Is it normal to have a 240 heart beats a minute when running at a moderate pace?

No, that’s alarming and unsafe.Either your measurement is off—which is entirely possible—or you need to stop running and see a medical professional. How do you know that’s your heart rate? Is it a treadmill telling you that? A fitbit? A chest strap? A pulse oximeter? That number is sufficiently alarming that you should immediately stop running and manually take your actual pulse to confirm. Even if you aren’t good at taking your pulse, that kind of bounding pulse should be easy to find. Once you find it, it might be going too fast to get an accurate count, but how fast does it feel? Even if you can’t keep up with it, you should be able to tell: 240 bpm is 4 beats per second. That’s insanely fast and you’ll know it’s insanely fast when you feel it.What’s your breathing like when your heart is supposedly that fast? Unless you’re barely able to draw breath, I would doubt its accuracy. The standard approach to determining a person’s maximum heart rate is subtracting their age from 220. The various training zones (fat burn, cardio, peak performance) are all percentages of 220. 240 obviously exceeds 100% of the max heart rate for anyone of any age. If you’re 25 years old, it’s 123% of your max. If you’re older, it’s even worse. So the answer is:No, it’s not normal.Check your measurement method.See a doctor.

Is it normal to run a fever after running a marathon?

I've never had a fever, but I have had chills after a marathon. While you're running the race, you're body is generating heat. If it's a slightly chilly day, then when you finish, your body has a lot of sweat on it, which quickly cools and can gives you chills. If you're not careful after wards, you could experience hypothermia due to the quick heat loss. Make sure you immediately put your sweats back on, as soon as you finish, or have someway to get warm. I got the chills last year, after finishing a marathon (it was cool, and I didn't get my sweats on right after finishing). This year, just barely after I finished, I put my sweats on, and never experienced the chills (and it was just as chilly as last year).

I hope your brother is feeling better by now, and congratulate him on finishing his marathon!

Is it normal for legs and feet to hurt after running?

Is it normal for running to cause blood pressure to drop so dramatically?

I've been diagnosed with hypertension due to high blood pressure: 170/115. So I've been put on medication which lowers it to 140/95. But when I go running for an hour it usually drops to 110/75. Today it dropped to as low as 84/60 which caused me to faint a few times. I actually had to take sodium to get it to go up.

So is it normal for blood pressure to drop so much due to running and should I do it everyday? Maybe I can stop taking pills then.
