My dad is a pastor and a hypocrite?
[Im not sure if i used the term hypocrite correctly] He's kinda like a leader in church for lost minds and he preaches to them. But at home, he always ignore his kids--me and my little brother. He also has a HUGE grudge with my mom, he actually admits he litteraly wants to kill her. im very ashamed having him as a father..and well...what do i do? he calls himself man of God when he's doing unpleasant things behind His back.
My boyfriend is a weak wiccan and im a strong christian. help!!?
last night we had a bible study at my youth pastors house about how you shouldnt date someone who is the same religion as you. My pastor said break up with him. I told my best friend, she was there.. well i told her i dont want to stop dating him because i feel like i can lead him to Christ and she". The other thing he is he is a weak wiccan. like he doesnt really follow his religion at all.. hes just there. he used to be a hardcore christian growing up and then the church offended him and i dont know why so he went to wiccan, which he really doesnt follow it. he is also a marine and hes in iraq right now. when i talk to him its only once a month for 5 minutes. so to break up with him while hes in iraq is harsh and mean. which i would never do. whereas my best friend wants me to do because she says its sinning until he gets home because were "unequaly yoked."i love this man and i refuse to leave him. it bothers me a little that hes not a christian and then it doesnt.should i leave him?
I found a suicide note written by my sister. What do I do?
So I found a note that my older sister wrote (she is 16). She has never seemed to be depressed or like that type of person. I cant tell my parents, I just cant. Its just this thing. I CANT talk to my family about ANY personal things. Believe me, I want too. I love my sister. Who do I tell that's not my parents? She has a boyfriend that is 19, maybe him? Who do I tell. I have to save my sister.
My Brother is going through puberty help!?
Okay well like just last night i woke up to go to the bathroom and i saw my brother take of his bed sheets and put them in the washer then he changed his pj's. I know he had a wet dream, because he told me not to tell my parents. But when ever i am around him it's so uncomfortable! because i know "what happened" to him and he already knows about me (period). the other thing that upsets me is that he always acts a like a big @ss jerk!!! and i hate it!!! My question is how do you deal with your bro. going through puberty! and how do you feel comfortable around each other when you both going through puberty! i am 15 he is 14 please help! NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS PLEASE!!!!
Is it rude not to invite people to your wedding that attended your bridal shower?
Let me explain. I've been going to my church since I was a baby, and I'm close to my pastor and his wife. But I went to college in a city that's like 2 hours away. And I had a bridal shower with my family and college friends at my house. But my pastor's wife wanted to throw me a bridal shower at the church since she's close to me. And she just made an announcement to the whole church asking pretty much all the women who could come to come. And quite a few people showed up..I'd say about 25. But I'm not really that close to most of the ones that came. Some of them are like older women I don't really know and teen girls that attend the church. And everyone that came got me a nice gift. So would it be rude not to invite those that attended my church shower to my wedding?
Why do pastors charge for weddings?
It depends on the pastor and depends on the church. As a pastor, if a person from my church is getting married, I wouldn't want any money from them. I marry them as an act of love, because I know them. But, if Mary-Jo's sister's friend is getting married, an hour south, down in somewhere's burg- and they want me to do it. The bottom-line is- my time is valuable. I have a family who would like to see me. I have a church who needs to be served and led. It takes time to drive to and run a wedding rehearsal. It takes time to prepare the talk and service. It takes time to run a wedding. It takes time to make sure my suit is ready and notes are prepared and practiced. It also takes emotional energy and know-how. So, in that circumstance, if Mary-Jo asked if I would do her sister's friend's wedding, I would attach a fee. But, it's more for people who are outside of the church I'm leading. Dad. Husband. Pastor. Superhero Enthusiast.
