Is This Part Of Some Book If So Which One

How many books should one read in a year?

You should read exactly the amount you feel you can, while not sacrificing the pleasure of reading and turning it into some sort of must-have duty.My 2017 reading challenge is 30 books. Back in my school times I used to read about 60 books a year which makes it little more than one book a week. But I also know people who somehow manage to read 150–200 books within a year. And those books are not some slim 300-page health guidebooks/photo albums but true pearls of modern literature! Are those people actually better than you and me? Of course they are. But we must not forget about prioritizing things here: your reading pleasure is more important than being better.Unless reading books is a part of your job or something like that, you shouldn’t bother with being worse in comparison. If you want to read more within a year take my advice:Start slowly with some trivial number, say, 12. In Poland over a half of population declares that they don’t read a single book in a year. So 12 is pretty good.Once you start, keep the schedule. Lets stick to the 12. Without hard math involved, this gives you one book a month. Get yourself a habit, figure out some fixed time of the day you can spent reading. Evenings in mornings are the best in my experience.Do not let other things distract you while you read. Keep those time-consuming devices/activities away from you. Some people compose a full list of the books they’re going to read before they take the annual challenge. It may help but I didn't find this technique very significant. You may often come across a book you never heard of before and you’d love to start reading it as soon as possible. In that case having a tight book schedule can ruin the joy of reading.

Some questions about the book The Outsiders?

1. They have more money, Tougher cars, and everything seems to go their way/ They don't have very good relations with other people, they are spoiled and expect things to go their way
2. They are closer to thier family and friends, brought together by poverty and tough situations/ They don't have anything extra, just barely getting by
3. Bob and his friends were drinking the night he got killed. If he hadn't gotten drunk, he probably wouldn't have started the fight that lead to his death.
4. The nightly double is when you can get in to the drive in and watch two movies in a row.
5. At the rumble, the greasers beat the socs in victory, though with everything else going on, and ponyboy and alot of others getting hurt so bad in the process, nobody was in the mood to celebrate.
6. Ponyboy usually feels so alone in the fact that he likes to read, dream and look at sunsets. When he found out that Cherry liked sunsets too, he realized that he could have something in common with a socs.
7. The vaccant lot is a spot where the gang would hang out. It is also the place where Ponyboy and Johnny fell asleep that night that caused the conflict between Ponyboy and Darry.
8. The church fire was caused by one of the lit cigarettes the boys would throw. When they got back from dairy queen, they found the place in flames. There were children having a picnic, who were playing in the church at the time, and got trapped inside. Johnny and Ponyboy ran into the church and saved the children, but Johnny got seriously injured when a burning beam fell on his back.

Can you throw away a book?

I know this sounds trivial, but I find I cannot throw away a book.

Once I finish a book and don't have room for it any longer, I simply can't toss it in the trash. It's like destroying or throwing away knowledge.

I always look for a good home for it. Usually by donating to a library when I have no more room for it.

In my life, I've only thrown one book away, and that's because it was in such incredibly poor shape no one else would have ever wanted it.

I cannot solve HC Verma Part 1 and 2. What do I do now?

You cannot solve HC Verma! Your future is ruined. If you can't solve HC Verma, you should stop living. There is no use in studying Physics at all if you can't solve HC Verma. You won't get into a college if you can't solve HC Verma. You will have to be on the streets begging from now on, because you couldn't solve HC Verma. Do you realise how long ago Sharma Ji ka beta solved HC Verma. Did you know he also finished Irodov and Halliday?! What are you doing with your life?!I was just joking! If you can't solve HC Verma, that's brilliant news, man. You're a human being! Congratulations!Trust me, the number of times I have sworn to burn those 2 books is probably more than my JEE Mains rank, which is probably going to be really bad. People are scared of monsters under their bed. I used to feel the same way too. Then I decided to be an engineer and bought these two books.HC Verma is not the beginning and end of Physics. There is so much more to Physics than 200 pages of unsolvable numericals. Read up on Feynman's lectures. Solve MCQs from past JEE papers. Play a game of cricket or football. Be that monkey climbing up a tree with a rope.Life is too short to cry about a sum you won't give a shit about in 2 years time. Once you realise this, suddenly all the colour will return to the world.Edit 1: Aditi took the role of the messenger of a generation of deranged engineers in 1 comment. She said, "Its been four years and I still have those books. I have saved them for a sacred cult ceremony where I'll be burning them along with hall tickets of the numerous degrading exams that I appeared for. Feel free to join." I respect you for what you said and all that you stand for.I hope the person who asked the question is reading this.

If part of a photograph is used to fill an available space in a book or magazine, ?

(sketch this out to convince yourself)

converting into symbols:
x = cropped dimension
the cropped photograph is (15 - x)(10 - x), which is 46 less than the original 10 * 15 = 150 cm^2 photograph

(15-x)(10-x) + 46 = 150
150 - 25x + x^2 + 46 = 150
x^2 - 25x + 46 = 0
(x - 23)(x - 2) = 0
so we can either crop 23 cm from each side (oops, that won't work with 10 and 15 cm sides)

or we can crop 2 cm from each side

the original photo is 15 * 10 = 150 cm^2
cropped photo is 13 * 8 = 104 cm^2 (a reduction of 46cm^2)
