Is This Picture Appropriate For Children

Which comic book series are appropriate for children ages 6 to 10?

The mainstream DC and Marvel titles are aimed at people who not only are adults but also have decades of dedication to the characters. They often have darker tones. But there are some titles that are good for kids. At DC, they include:Teen Titans GoBatman animated (look for the TPBs from the 90s; they are better for kids around 10 than around 6)Scooby-Doo has a monthly comic where the dog's gang team up with DC superheroesMarvel Comics did some series aimed at children, some ten years ago, with more kid-friendly adventures of Spiderman and the Avengers.

Is it appropriate to make your child's picture your Twitter profile picture?

I don't want to comment on what is appropriate, because I am not a good judge of what is appropriate and I think that Twitter is an avenue for self-expression.      I think many people post photos of their child or children becuase they love them and are proud of them and want everyone to know this.   But I do not think it is a good idea to use a photo of your child as your Twitter profile picture for a number of reasons. First of all when people see your profile picture on Twitter they expect to see you, an adult, not a child.     Secondly, it's an invasion of your child's privacy. In my opinion.     Third, there are stalkers, telemarketers and other bad people on Twitter and it is not a good idea to let these people know you have children and allow them to see images of what those children look like.

Is it appropriate for a baby's mom to send pictures to the baby's dad (ex) with HER and the child to the cell when she is spending time with child?

If these two are going to be involved in the life of the baby they made together, they’d both better grow up and stop being petty or they’re going to make that baby’s life a living hell.If the child is with the mother, then pictures are going to include the mother. If the father wants to see what his baby is up to when he’s not there, then he needs to accept that the baby is with the mother. If he doesn’t want the pictures, then he should just tell the mom that the pictures of her are too difficult for him to see, and please don’t send them. But for the child’s sake, I urge him to get over that. Your child is going to love it's mother, and if you let it be known that you can’t stand to see pictures of it with its mother, you will create a serious psychological conflict in the child. Whether you are together or not, the most damaging thing you can do to a child is force it to choose one parent over the other. Now, if the OP is the new girlfriend, and SHE doesn’t want the father to be able to look at a picture of his baby that includes the ex, then he just needs to break up with her right now. That is such a controlling demand, that it bodes ill for the future of the relationship. Your boyfriend has a child, and he had that child with Another Woman. Deal with that fact, or get out of his life. You don’t have the right to use guilt and jealousy to manipulate a man to harm the relationship with his child.Don’t let it come to this: Prosecutor: Brendan Creato dad killed son to continue relationship

What are appropriate math books for 3 or 4 year old children?

My two-year old loves the following:Mother Goose Numbers on the Loose--classic and not so classic mother goose rhymes that mention numbers. Read this a couple times and you'll have it memorized. http://www.amazon.com/Mother-Goo...One Hundred Hungry Ants--Ants on their way to a picnic logistically organize their numbers for more effective movement (my 4 year old nephew has this, but I think younger toddlers who have been read to a lot will appreciate it, too). http://www.amazon.com/Hundred-Hu...The Doorbell Rang--A mother bakes cookies and finds that she has to divide again and again to evenly distribute the goods. http://www.amazon.com/Doorbell-R...It Looked Like Spilt Milk--An early rorschach test, but introduces mad skills in pattern and shape recognition (Duck! Rabbit! plays with similar concepts). http://www.amazon.com/Looked-Lik...Counting or counting backwards books (Counting Kisses; Ten, Nine, Eight; The Icky Bug).Warlord's series, including Warlord's Beads, Warlord's Puzzles, Warlord's Puppeteers, Warlord's Alarm, Warlord's Kites, Warlord's Messengers, and Warlord's fish. These books introduce concepts such as the abacus, tanagrams, the compass, velocity, etc. for grades 1-4 but my 2 year old sits through the stories, helps count, and is exposed to the vocabulary of math and physics. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_s...

Naked children pictures on Facebook?!?

I don't post naked pics but I do post everyday pics..but because of recent info I have received I'm thinking of pulling every single pic down. Anyways to some of you....NAKED pics?? You really don't see that as wrong?? That should be something saved to embarrass your child later in life in front of their bf/gf but to put it on a public site? Not cool. YES you can have the option of friends only but still you realize there are computer hackers they can EASILY hack into things like that. Sure, chance is slim but it is STILL THERE. It's a fact that facebook has been proven to not be a safe site even with all those "friends only" options. Your every day human being isn't a hacker but just knowing they are out there really gives me the heebie jeebies.

I was watching something disturbing on momversation...one of the mothers on that site actually had some person take a picture of her child from her blog and then they put it on a child pornography site. Thing was it was a completely innocent pic. The child wasn't naked apparently. This is why I'm thinking of taking every single pic down of my kids.

Computer hacker + Pedo + pics of children on websites = A really bad f*cking time.

TO all who keep saying friends only..let me repeat a scentence I typed. "YES you can have the option of friends only but still you realize there are computer hackers they can EASILY hack into things like that. Sure, chance is slim but it is STILL THERE. It's a fact that facebook has been proven to not be a safe site even with all those "friends only" options."

Let me explain it further...basically facebook's "privacy" options are sh*t

People who are saying it's not child pornography are totally right but think about this for a sec

Women's a$$es are to men as baby butts are to pedos.

I hate to be the one to say it but that is a fact. Pedos are turned on by kids..butts included

Is rocky horror picture show appropriate for a 11 year old?

That really depends on your parents. Growing up, my mother would have NEVER allowed me to watch it at that age. On the other hand, I would have no problem showing it to a girl of your age...as long as it is just the dvd. I don't think teens should see it in a theater until the age of 16...atleast. The things people yell in the audience are a whole lot worse than anything you'll see in the movie.

The movie itself isn't too bad...atleast not the way it is filmed. There are themes of homosexuality (although I guess it's actually bisexuality because Frank sleeps with Rocky then Janet then Brad). There is sex in it, although you don't really see anything. Two scenes are done behind a bed curtain. The other you just see Janet's boob's (nicely contained in a bra) getting grabbed. If you count the pool scene as a sex/orgy scene, then you only see mild kissing. It is implied that a brother and sister (Riff Raff and Magenta) are in a sexual relatioship. I'd say the "worst" thing you see is Columbia's nipples peak out of her corset (and her pajama top). But most people don't notice that during their first viewing.

Based on that description, I suppose it sounds pretty bad. One thing to keep in mind, this movie came out in 1975. Back then it was rated R. If the movie were to come out today, I suspect it would get rated PG-13...because they really don't show anything.

But, it all comes down to your parents. If they do not want you watching a movie with homosexuality in it, they have the right to shield you from it. You can offer to have them watch it before you watch it, so they can see just how "bad" (or not bad) it is. But in the end, the decision is theirs. If they say no, just accept it. Rocky Horror Picture Show will still be out in 6-7 years when you turn 18. Then it will be your personal decision of what to watch and what not to watch.

Good luck. I hope they let you watch it.

Why do some people think it’s appropriate to take pictures of their kids flipping the bird and post it on social media?

They are just ill-informed about the potential negative impacts that it has on other people especially children. Violence of any kind should be banned and people should report or block those ignorant users who are proud of themselves disseminating such repugnant posts.

How many pages are usually in a children's picture book?

32.From Standard Picture Books are 32 PagesPicture books are almost always 32 pages. The reasons for this are physical: when you fold paper, eight pages folds smoothly into what’s called a signature, while any more results in a group of pages too thick to bind nicely. In addition, the 32 pages can all be printed on a single sheet of paper, making it cost-effective. In extremely rare cases, picture books may be 16, 24, 40 or 48 pages, all multiples of eight (a signature); but 32 pages is industry standard.Francoise Bui of Doubleday Books, said, “We’ll do a longer book if the story needs it. The most likely time is if it’s a holiday or seasonal book, that we plan to give a bigger marketing push, and it needs those extra pages to tell the story. If I’ve acquired a story I really like, and if it needs extra pages, I’ll do it.”There are variations: in my picture book, The Journey of Oliver K. Woodman, the illustrator, Joe Cepeda, takes 48 pages to tell the story. The text is letters or postcards, written by someone who gives a lift to Oliver, a wooden man, then writes back to Uncle Ray to report on Oliver’s progress across the nation from South Carolina to California. There are fourteen letters for fourteen spreads. Cepeda is adding wordless spreads between each letter to show Oliver actually traveling. So, you may see board books at 16 or 24 pages, and picture books at 32, 40 or 48 pages. But the gold standard for picture books is 32 pages.

Is Welcome to Night Vale appropriate for kids?

I'm 17 and I LOVE the podcast Welcome to Night Vale. It's utterly hysterical. It's just so off the wall and weird! Some of it is a bit creepy.. but in a funny "wtf" sort of way. It's not particularly scary or anything.

If you are unfamiliar with it, Welcome to Night Vale is an insanely popular podcast. It's the top downloaded podcast at the moment. It's a fictional radio show hosted by the main character Cecil. It's set in the city of Night Vale which is located somewhere in the middle of America in the desert. In this city.. basically.. all conspiracy theories are true.. that's the best way to describe it. Bizarre things happen and it's just off the wall, like I said. For example.. there was one titled "Wheat and Wheat Byproducts" where all wheat and wheat byproducts turn into venomous snakes. There's all these funny reoccurring things.. like the abandoned mine shaft that they take people to for various reasons, like to assure that people vote correctly for town council or something, if not, their family members will be executed. But it's told in a very humorous, dry fashion. There's also the thing where if your library book is overdue, they'll chop off your hand or something. But again, it's all very very funny.

The one thing I could see being considered "inappropriate" (WRONGLY SO! IT DISGUSTS ME THAT PEOPLE WANT TO SHEILD THEIR KIDS FROM THIS) is that Cecil, is flamboyantly gay and is in love with the scientist Carlos. Apparently, and I haven't gotten this far yet, they're actually a thing, they go on a coffee date or something. There's nothing wrong with it though, there's no difference than if Cecil were straight and Carlos was a Carla. As far as I know.. it doesn't go to any inappropriate levels with them.. the podcast is not explicit and only occasionally has a swear.. but not any of the bad ones lol.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to recommend it to my 11 (or she might be 12) year old cousin. She LOVES reading and just stories in general and her and her mom like books on tape, which this basically is. She's read all the Harry Potter books and the Hunger Games series as well as most of the Twilight series (ugh no lol). She's obviously read other things as well, but those are the ones I can think of.

If you know of Welcome to Night vale, would you deem it appropriate for her age group?
