Is This Silent In This Position

Farting at the position of attention?

Drill instructors dont have souls. They dong laugh. At first I thought it was just an act but I soon learned I was very wrong. All they bring is pain. From person experience I had to crap real bad and had bad gas in formation. I couldnt hold my fart in and it just slipped and before I knew it I found myself inside the squadbay alone with the drill instructor doing lunges all the way to and through the head into the next squadbay holding two full cantines infront of me.

Silent Hill Christabella praying position?

In the Silent Hill film Christabella prays with her hands interlaced and her index fingers extended. What is the significance of that position and do any religions really pray that way?

Should I apply for another position in the same company after "silent treatment"?

Yes, apply for the other position. Some employers do not respond to applications or following interviews. Either they have not made up their minds yet, or they are not interested in you. Keep looking.

What does a silent point mutation consist of?

A silent point mutation is a mutation that changes one DNA base, but has no effect on RNA translation. In this table:Notice that several DNA triplets (RNA codons) encode the same amino acid. For example, CGT, CGC, CGA, and CGG, all encode arginine — a change of the third base (called the “wobble”) would thus be “silent.”I am not sure if this is 100% true … a silent mutation may well have other, less obvious effects.

Microbiology--Wobble Position?

Knowing the codon table will really help you understand this answer. (google it!)

If you look at the codon table you will notice that all the amino acids are coded by more then one codons. For example, if you look at amino acid serine, you will notice that its coded by UCU, UCC, UCA, and UCG, and all these codons have just the last letter different. So lets say you have a mutation in the last (third) position and you change UCU to UCC, when you do this the end result is still serine. In other words, you are not creating any mutation and you will likely get the same amino acid when you have a mutation at the wobble position, therefore this mutations are called silent mutations.

Hope this helps!

Which letter is silent “s” and “c”?

I’m not really sure about the question. But let’s answer, at least, part of it:In the word island the -s- is silent, because the English word was written yland and pronounced like that. The -s- appeared in the XVIIs when de Grammarians decided it should have the -s- because it obviously came from Latin insula. The same happened, then, to yle (where people get married) that became isle and all that family of suspects. There are probably more cases: French ate a lot of -s- (like in être < *estre < *stare, nôtre < *nostre < nostrum, …) and Grammarians would feel compelled to restore them even when they never were there in the first place…Now, the c letter marks either an s sound of a k sound. The occlusive is very hard to silence because they tend to be very remarkable sounds. So, in CV position with a, o, u I doubt it’s silent, and I’d say the same for VC position (which is not very common but it’s not rare: e.g. ox, box, Unix, Occitan, Catholic, …). Now, as a sibilant, ce, ci… I am almost certain there are some Frank/French loan word that has a silent s in here, because French eats everything! But the usual words are all normal: ice, prince, Cyprus, capricious, cemetery, cinnamon, cinema, celestial…
