Is This Tattoo A Good Idea

Does this tattoo sound like a good idea?

I have no doubts about the tattoo I want, I've been wanting it for a while now. I want "♪Come away with me♪" on my inner wrist in the font Edwardian Script ITC (so if you have word..try that out).

I'm just wondering what the general public thinks...
no colors or anything, just that.

The story behind it..My frist love. I fell deeply and madly in love with this girl who loved me back and our song was come away with me by norah jones. It's like my way of knowing she's always near me and never away from my heart.

If you wanna know, We broke up and it sent me into spiriling depression for a few years...A day doesn't go by that my mind doesn't recall a precious memory we shared

Is a tattoo that says "Smile" a good idea?

I am an 18 year old female and I've been wanting to get a tattoo that says "Smile" for a while now. Ive suffered through depression and an eating disorder but I've often hidden my problems with my smile. People often tell me that I have a bright and pretty smile and I guess its my trademark sort of thing. I just want the word tattooed somewhere I can see it but where its not to obvious to interfere with future professions, like maybe inside a finger. Is this a good idea or not?

Is a tattoo business a good idea?

In order to answer that question, you first need to research and answer several other questions. Is creating tatoos and tattooing others something you would enjoy foungbfirvthecrest if your life?2. What is the demand for tattoos today, and is thayvdemsnd incessing or decreasing?3. How much does it cost to start or buy a tattoo business?4. What is the average income one can expect from a ratio business?5. Where in the US is the demand highest for tattoos?6. How much help do you need to run a tattoo business, and how much does that help cost including benefits and taxes on wages you must pay?7. Where are you going to get the money to pay for that business? If you borrow it, how are you going to pay it back? Will there be enough projected income to pay it back?8. The business is always on your mind, and the work is piled up and waiting for you when you return. No one is going to look after your business or take care of it like you do. Why? They really don't care as long as they get a pay check because the business does not belong to them! After you have the answers to the above questions, you will know if owning a tattoo business is a good idea for you. Whether to start sndbiwn any business is a personal decision.

I want to get a hip tattoo....good idea?

Speaking purely from personal experience, I'll try to answer those in order:

I avoided stretching from pregnancy by placing it lower on my hip, closer to the bottom of the hip bone than the top.

I don't think it is tacky, especially when placed a little lower. So long as the tattoo isn't an overused or tacky design, I don't think the placement affects it too much.

I had my ankle done at the same time I had my hip recoloured. I thought that the ankle hurt far worse than getting the hip done the first time and getting it retouched.

Tattoos on hands? Good or bad idea?

I was talking with my parents, and the topic of tattoos came up. My parents said they were okay with me getting tats when I get older, as long as they're not rude or obnoxious. I asked them about tattoos on my hands likes this: http://icons-lover.tumblr.com/post/46300928868 (mostly like the top left one)
They said that when I tried to get a job later in life, it would ruin my chances of getting a job because I wouldn't look professional, and it's difficult to hide your hands, especially for me since I talk with my hands.
I'm only 14, so I'll have to wait a little. My parents said they wouldn't allow me to do it until I was 18, and had to be responsible for my own decisions.
What do you think. A terrible, okay, or good idea?
I really like the look, but I don't want to look like a pothead when I try to accomplish something through an interview (college, job, etc.)

~ Thank you

Is a neck tattoo a good idea for your first tattoo?

I would say no, it's actually a really bad idea. Most reputable, quality tattoo artists would advise against it for several reasons. So I would question how good an artist is that is willing to put someone's first tattoo on their neck. Here's a hint, if they aren't at a professional studio, they do it out of a suitcase, or are willing to do it for free-RUN!!!!  Your life actually could depend on it (diseases). Some things to consider when thinking about this:1. The skin on the neck is extremely thin and delicate in most places. This means it can be tricky to get the dye under the skin properly (hence the need for a good artist).2. The neck is packed full of nerves. Tattoos are painful. SO getting something painful done in a place full of nerves to carry pain signals?  OUCH!3. Depending on gender, placement, and type of tattoo, it can and will affect how people view you and your options for employment. Sad, but true. It can be hard to cover up, many associate neck tattoos with gangs and 4.  Since this will be your first tattoo, you have no idea how you will react to the pigment. You could have a severe allergic reaction to the pigment, which could cause you problems. It could also be difficult to care for, depending on location.5. Tattoos can blur, fade, or break down over time. Sun exposure and movement of the skin can speed up the process. The skin on your neck will be exposed to sun and move more often than you think. So, most tattoos on the neck look blurry, indistinct, or badly done due to these factors. Before getting a neck tattoo, really think about WHY you want one on your neck, and what you want from it long term. It is a long-term commitment, more so than marriage. If you just want something to make you look like a "bad-ass", you are probably getting it for the wrong reasons. I recommend seriously thinking about placement, type of tattoo and why you want the tattoo and for it to be placed somewhere. I also recommend talking to several good, reputable, tattoo artists about tattoos and placements and LISTENING to what they say. They know more than you do about tattoos, so they are the ones with the information you need to know. Thanks for the A2A @Melissa Stroud!

Is getting a tattoo not a good idea?

I know a lot of people who have them. I never honestly thought it was such a good decision. Injecting ink permanently in you skin just doesn't sound smart to me. You might not like the tattoo at some point in the future. And getting it removed will be costly and painful. Also, having the ink your skin for a long time can't be good for you. It's not natural or healthy. And some people will make judgments about you because you have a tattoo. There's a stigma against them. Many employers won't hire somebody with a visible tattoo.

Upper thigh Tattoo? Is it a good idea?

I was gonna get an tattoo of the same unicorn as lady gaga (it has a deep meaning to me) and i was either gonna get it on my top of foot or thigh (im leaning more towards the thigh, since it would be more discrete)
can someone tell me the pros and cons of this
i also want the longterm pros and cons

What are good concepts, and ideas for tattoos?

8 Year ago when I decided to get my first tattoo done (on my arm) I seriously had no idea what to put or what to do.All I knew was - I wanted a tattoo. So guess what I did do?I went to the tattoo artist and told him - just put whatever you want.Im not joking. It made life for me so easier. And since then - I asked the Tattoo artist to put on my body what he thought was the best of what he could do (the only exception being the face of my ex-girl)What you can put is your wish. But here are a few DO NOT’s I would recommend.DO NOT PUTReligious Tattoos or Cultural Tattoos you do not understandTattoos in different languagesHate TattoosCheap TattoosAnything to belong to a group or gangAny celebrities TattoosTattoos about the futureYour Lovers Name, Date of Birth or ImageGet tattooed out of impulse or because you are intoxicatedFortunately for me - the Tattoo artist I went to - put horror faces - something I ended up loving. But if I had to go back in time and do it all over again - I suppose I would have put a theme. So if you ask me - Get a Theme done. You will never regret it.Loy Machedo

Is getting this calf tattoo a good idea?

Background: So I'm a 17 year old guy who less than a month away from 18 and I plan on getting my first tattoo (I only plan on having this one and another on my upper arm). I've read a few bad things about tattoos with text on them and how they can easily look bad on certain areas of your body due to it not being flat.

Bottom line:
I want "Work In Progress" on my inner left calf in a fancy yet legible Cursive font somewhere close to 1.5 by 7 inch.
I'm wondering if any of you tattoo veterans or even professionals could help me out and tell whether you think it'll turn out well or not and/or inform me of any precautions to take while getting a calf tat.
