Can I get arrested if I torrent anime in Japan?

I'm not sure if you can get arrested in Japan for torrenting anime.  But I'll tell you this: you can be arrested for uploading or/and downloading anime.  There's been numerous news report about how people got arrested:27 Arrested in Japan for File-Sharing, Including 2 Perfect Dark UsersMan Arrested for Downloading Anime, Games, Manga in JapanMan Arrested for Uploading Berserk Manga via ShareMan Arrested for Uploading K-ON!!, Other Works via Share2 Arrested for Uploading Berserk, K-ON, Working!! Manga via ShareSo far, I'm not sure if there's any news about people being arrested for torrenting anime.  Yes, it is true Japan's govt has been making uploading stuff a criminal law:Law Penalizing Downloaders, Criminalizing Ripping Passes in JapanSadly this law cause some side effect:1 Year After Japan's Stricter Download Law, Music Sales StagnateA Month After Japan's Strict New Download Law Comes into Effect, Survey Suggests that Consumers are Spending Less Than Ever on MusicBut to be honest, I find it hard to believe that piracy hurt anime.  Why, well I have evidence which make me think piracy may not have hurt anime.Take Korean pop culture (K-pop, K-dramas, etc...), it's more popular then anime/manga today.  Now anything popular will be heavily pirated, and Korean pop content is not immune to piracy:BH Discuss: Would Hallyu ever be possible without piracy? - Beyond HallyuNow all these piracy, you would think it would hurt Korean content industry, and cause a lot of loss in profit.  Here's the shocking part: it didn't.For the last few years, Korean pop content has gained popularity worldwide, and instead of profit loss, Korean pop industry has been making profit despite rampart piracy.Hallyu-themed exports make big jump Koreas top management agencies double revenue in 3 yearsAlso last year, Korea was the tenth largest music market:Jeff Benjamin 제프 벤자민 on TwitterNow this year Korea became the 8th largest music market:Jeff Benjamin 제프 벤자민 on TwitterAnd I checked on Korea economy everyday.  I don't see any report from entertainment companies suffering any loss due to piracy. So in short, if piracy really hurt anime why didn't the same thing happened to K-pop and K-dramas.  See that's why I don't believe the "piracy hurt anime" claim.

If beastiality is illegal, how come you can find it so easily online?

I searched it for curiosities sake, and it's all over the place; both porn and social networks for it. Forums, tube sites, torrents, pictures on image searches..

It's weird. You can't do the same for rape or pedophilia, so why animals? Why doesn't law enforcement take down such material?

Is it illegal to view lolicon on the internet on google and save pictures to your computer?

only four people in the US have gotten arrested for loli. Christopher Handley was arrested for importing and he had a collection of loli but he only had 7 mangas that were obscene. the other three people were arrested for having actual cp expect for Steven Kutzer because he used wiping programs to erase his hard drive. Dwight whorley was looking at loli on a public computer but he actual CP and this year a man was arrested for having loli but he was under investigation because he was on sites that hd actual CP. If you look at it and you keep it to yourself then you will be okay. if you decide to download it from torrent or P2P be careful because I read on the forums that they might have the CP and you would be arrested.

As for the obscene part, it is about your community standards and how would they view it but when it is about loli they wouldn't care. they are looking for people who look at actual CP. you would only get arrested if you look at CP, look at loli in public, braged about your loli collection to the wrong person, or run down the street with a megaphone screaming "I look at porn cartoons of little kids" or something stupid like that. just remember to keep it to your self.

I had to this research for my friend because they were wondering about why is loli so popular online and why did only a few people in the US got arrested for it when a lot of people in the US download it. also I had to some research about this for one of my classes because I had to do a speech about justice and I wanted to use the Christopher Handley case in my speech. You can also go on the forums on Fakku, Hongfire or any other anime forums.

I don't like loli and I find it to be kinda creepy but I'm not going to judge you for what you like. you better keep your "love" for kids in your fantasy and don't bring it into the REAL WORLD.

P.S: sorry for this long answer and I hope it was helpful

Are cracked softwares and games legal to use?

By “cracked” I assume that you mean software that is obtained in a manner not authorized by the copyright owner, such as after removing legitimate digital rights management controls. In the U.S., there is criminal copyright infringement and civil copyright infringement. Criminal copyright infringement (simplified for this post) is civil copyright infringement plus some extra elements.I’ll assume that by “legal to use” you just mean whether the use of that software is civil copyright infringement. Making a copy of copyrighted software without the permission of the copyright owner is copyright infringement. Downloading is generally considered making a copy. Executing the software is generally considered making a copy. (There are exceptions and fine details, but I’ll assume those don’t matter here.)So, downloading and running copyrighted software where you don’t have a license to do so is copyright infringement and thus is not permitted under U.S. law.Cracked software is available on the Internet. That does not mean it is legal. It may just be that copyright owners can’t check everywhere and they can’t always find out who set up a particular website. Just because someone has a website and is doing something doesn’t mean that they are following the law. Websites that do nothing but sell pirated software can be shut down, if their operators can be found. But, if they can’t, the websites may remain active. The design of the Internet does not allow for websites to be blocked. Your access to the Internet, if it runs through a bottleneck or barrier that does block content, can have some websites blocked.
