Is Ukraine Even More Divided Than America Now

Why did Russia invade Ukraine?

That is not an invasion for the purpose of waging war. It is to protect those Russian ethnics and citizens under siege by gangster nationalist Ukrainian thugs in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Russia has national and security interests to protect. The U.S. cries national security all the time while it is a few thousand miles from the countries it attacks.

Will America ever recover from Trump?

Trump is handing nuclear tech to the country that financed 9/11.

He trusts the word of Putin over that of his own intelligence agencies.

He thinks he convinced North Korea to abandon its nuclear program, then refuses to hear evidence to the contrary.

He refused to lift a finger as Russia expanded its influence into Crimea, the Ukraine, and now Belarus.

He has emboldened America's enemies by repeatedly threatening to pull out of NATO

He pulled out of the Iran deal and now the world no longer trusts America to keep its word.

Everything Trump has done has benefitted him personally, but harmed America. Do you think our country will ever recover?

Are Native American Languages similar to each other?

Slovak is West Slavic, so a Slovak speaker should be able to get by comfortably in Czech and Polish, but only have basic survival knowledge of other Slavic group languages (including Russian, Croat, Ukrainian and quite a few others).

Most linguists divide native American languages into about 29 families; often speakers of a language from the same family will be able to manage basic communication (there are many Iroquoian languages, and even more in the Sioux group). Speakers of languages which do not belong to the same group are unlikely to share more than a few dozen words (typically words borrowed from English, French, or other imperial languages).

Most native American languages are now so tiny that their extinction in the near future is almost inevitable, and almost all speakers are fluent in at least one other language.

The chances are two speakers of distinct Iroquoian dialects would choose to speak English together, rather than try to manage with their native tongues.

What's the difference between a province & a state?

They are basically the same.

States use to mean similar to country. It is the "United States" that invented States to be sub-territories. And the country name says it all - "United States". Previously independent territories coming together as one. They kept the term States, and would have more independent power in the constitution than most countries. For example, as a non-American I find it very odd that criminal law is different from state to state, so you can be in one state and get a different sentence than in another, or it might not even be a crime there.

Australia probably used the term because they were also colonies Uniting together. Plus, becoming a country after 1776 means the term was now being used.

So, having said that. The US used the term State to have a powerful meaning to the Union they were forming. But since then, it can just mean anything and isn't necessarily any different than other name like Province. It can be argued that the meaning of Stateof the US in 1776 and now is 2 completely different things.
