Is Weed Was Legal Or Illegal

Is weed legal or illegal in jamaica?

Weed is illegal there period, although some people get around that, the government sometimes doesnt enforce it because even they smoke it, depends on the cop.

Why is weed illegal and alcohol legal?

The reason alcohol is legal is because the government banned it, lost a bunch of revenue and people were making their own hooch, which could not be taxed, the black market created a crime culture and they decided to legalize it again even though it kills tons of people directly or indirectly. It was PROFIT that legalized booze again.
Marijuana was a bad drug, the main reason it was banned and reported as a drug is that HEMP or marijuana that does not get you high , that is a very close cousin to both strains of marijuana, was outselling the cotton crops of the south when people found out hemp lasts 7 times longer in the fiber form, it seeds are a superior feed to anyother for livestock. It was so versatile that the cotton industry was getting its rear end kicked by hemp. So, they knew marijuana and hemp were similar and that because it would get you high, you could ban hemp/marijuana and the cotton industry would be saved. You can smoke ninety joints (if you can stay awake that long) and wake up fine in the morning. There is not ONE case of marijuana poisoning or over dose. You can find myriad sources of marijuana films, archives adn articles on the net. Look up Dr. Lester Grinspoon first. He is a Harvard man who gave great testimony. That is about the history of it though. Have a great day.

Is weed illegal in USA?

Yes. The US Government maintains cannabis on the Schedule 1 list, so it’s illegal. Several states (10 at this writing) plus DC have eliminated some laws against cannabis. While a Massachusetts State Trooper will not (can not) bust you for having up to 28g of flower, a federal cop would be completely within bounds to bust you - it’s illegal at the federal level, despite what some states might have done. So, no cross-state-border transportation, certainly no cross-the-Canadian-border transportation, even though it’s federally legal in Canada.

Why is weed illegal in India? How should it be legal in the future?

A tough question.First of all, in 1929, a Doctor named Harry Anslinger tried to ban Alcohol in the USA. mind you, this was before we got independence. The Alcohol Ban went pretty bad. It increased illegal sell and consumption of Alcohol. And as we know, we can die from excess Ethanol or Methanol (hardly 10 mililiters of Methanol is enough to make you blind.). The criminals used to sell alcohol illegally to people. The Illegal Status of Alcohol was removed and it was legalised and new Laws were made regarding its production and sale. Now Harry Anslinger was in search of a new drug to ban, he came across Cannabis and reported that it was bad for humans and whatever we come to know about Cannabis even today was stated by Harry Anslinger. Now, you cannot die from Cannabis Overdose hence, the illegal trade did not affect anyone unless the weed was spiked. The magical plant soon disappeared from the streets. Harry Anslinger’s words became the tried and tested truth. In India, weed was made illegal in 1838, 1871, and 1877 under British rule. But failed to execute the law.Fast forward to independent India, in 1961, the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs put Ganja in the class of hard drugs (all because Harry Anslinger) which was adopted by India in 1985 as Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.Once Weed was made illegal all over the world, the research was completely closed and no one ever found other uses of this Magical Plant. And that's how a Rumour is spread which can change the world.

Shouldnt alchol be illegal and weed legal?

Is weed illegal in Jamaica?

Like everyone with common sense said, yes it is illegal in Jamaica, to the point where you could be jailed if it is found growing in your backyard and it can be proven that it was being taken care of (by the way, the only proof this justice system needs is word-of-mouth from police.) Yes, it is easy to get access to, but you would have to hide to use it.

In India, is weed legal?

No. It’s use is restricted. Like many countries in the world where weed is illegal you can find weed dealers if you look carefully, it is the same in India. Also the fact that if you are carrying less than 5 grams of weed and if police catches you then they cannot put you in jail because 5 grams or less is considered as personal or recreational use and hence you will not be treated as a dealer, but they will confiscate the weed for sure. Anything more than 5 grams will probably get you into jail.

Is weed legal in England?

Not only is cannabis still illegal in the UK, but the government has recently reiterated its intent to keep it that way, because they still believe cannabis has no medicinal value. This despite the fact that (then Home Secretary) Theresa May granted GW Pharmaceutical a retrospective licence to grow cannabis 10 years after they started, effectively making them Britains largest dope dealers. Their most successful product so far, Sativex, is basically just atomised cannabis. Go figure.

Is weed legal in jamaica?

Ganja is illegal, but prevalent. It is also loosley enforced. If you're a tourist the fine generally is 200JA or about $5 US. I've never seen anything but a mild pay off to cops anyway.

The island grows it so well that you can generally get 3-4oz for about $20us.

Smoke with caution and pleasure. ja mon
