Is Whey Protein Powder Allowed In Checked In Baggage

Is it allowed to have a fresh bag of protein powder in checked baggage (airlines)?

That would be tricky to bring into the US or Canada. There are no labels listing the contents and yes, it does look rather drug like in appearance. If you have the original container I would suggest you put it back in it and somehow reseal it although that would be strange as well. So, with that in mind, throw this bag away since it will get you in so much trouble you wouldn’t believe. Buy another container and leave it in the container.Be aware that protein can be obtained from either plants or meat and if its meat protein you may have issues with Customs over that. This is why you need a label listing the contents. And if you aren’t sure, declare it anyway when you enter. If they don’t want you to bring it in you are out only the powder. If you don’t declare it and they find it, you will be charged with smuggling.Oddly enough, but quite understandably when you think about it, Customs is far more concerned with food products than weapons. A gun or even a bomb may kill a lot of people, an uncontrolled pest can destroy entire crops or even ecology's. No offence to Australia, but no one wants to repeat their mistakes.

Can you take Whey Protein Powder along with Creatine on an International Flight (To Mexico)?

I'm going to be in Mexico for three months, so I'm planning on taking 3, 5lb tubs of whey protein (sealed) and 2 sealed creatine bottles and an unsealed one (halfway done). I'm wondering if this could pose a problem at the airport...since I'm guessing creatine could be confused with coke and meth. haha

Bringing Protein Powder to France allowed?

Am I allowed to Bring Protein Powder to France in my checked luggage? It's chocolate flavored, so it's brown and I just have it in a ziplock baggie. I'm afraid they'll think it's some sort of drug, but then again it's brown and looks like hot cocoa powder. Also, since it's a dairy product I guess, is it prohibited from bringing? Thanks for your expertise.

Can I take whey protein powder (e.g. Muscle Milk) to Italy on a plane? will customs allow it if I check it?

If I were you, I'd just pack it in my luggage that goes under the plane because more than likely it will be opened for inspection and I'm sure you don't want that. You can always open it when you get to wherever you're going. Here's another thought: if you buy it at the airport after you've gone thru security it will be no problem, no questions asked.

Are we allowed to take whey proteins on international flights?

I have taken whey with me on occasion, on flights abroad. Once, I packed whey in an unmarked, airtight container in my carry-on when flying to Brazil. In customs I was very lucky. The official who searched my luggage was a very tall, very largely built body builder. He immediately opened the bottle, smelled it, smiled at me and flexed his bicep. He understood what it was.Despite this, it seems this very act of carrying whey with me had flagged me with Interpol. Upon my return to South Africa, the moment I walked through customs the sniffer dogs were upon me! I was instructed to put down my luggage and back away. Carefully, very slowly, the beagle tugged open the zip of my sports bag, climbed inside, rummaged through my clothes and triumphantly retrieved the half-eaten steak sandwich I had bought at the airport in Sao Paulo. The narcotics agent looked deflated. “You know you’re not supposed to bring food in with you!” he snapped at me, yanked the beagle’s chain and stomped away.Needless to say, I now pack supplements in my checked-in luggage.

Can I take protein powder in hand luggage on a flight to Switzerland?

Yes. You are allowed to bring protein powder in hand luggage to Switzerland (or any other European Country). In Europe, there is no special rule about powder to be observed with regards to hand luggage. However, if your flight would be to the US, then you would need to be careful because the US just recently introduced the so-called Powder Rule.Even then, you might bring small amounts of powder in hand luggage without any problem (up to 350 ml), but a larger amount of powder would be subject to extended screening (TSA advises you to place bigger containers of powders in checked baggage).
