Is Windows Better Or Mac Better For Computer Programming

Which is better for programming, a Mac or Windows laptop?

It’s all the same. Choose what suitable for:Your work (Programming, Designing…): Like if you are front end developer, you’ll like Mac more, cause you can use terminal, programming, designing (use PTS, AI…) in just one OS. On Window, you can do same, but’s not that cool like in mac.Your hobby (Gaming, Movie…): If you’d like to play game. NEVER…EVER buy a Mac. Just go for window. In mac, there’s game too. But’s…(I don’t wanna say :’[ ). If you enjoy watching video, movies…Yes, that’s all the same. Except you buy an Mac with Retina Screen. Or else, it’s all the same. Don’t waste your money.Your style: Yeah. Macbook have very cool design, but windows do have tons of choices too. Some new laptop of Asus, Xiaomi… do have really cool design too… Choose what you like, but’s not that important to much…:)Your Budget: This is really important thing. I don’t know what budget do you have. If you have a lot’s of money. You may dont ask this, you already buy 1 Macbook Pro full ops and 1 Dell XPS full ops..Haha. So, in this case, i assume that you don’t have much. If so, buy window and install Ubuntu bro. It’s really cool. (I love ubuntu than OSX, if i don’t have to do design works. i had install Ubuntu on my Mac already).P/S: I know, Mac is cool, if you want buy a Mac, i just have one advise. Buy an old MAC ( > 2014 Version), the brand new is just overprice. Or else, like i says before, if you are rich. Just buy them all :)). You money’s your answer :))

As a computer programmer, do you prefer windows or macOS?

It depends on what sort of programming you want to learn.Naturally, if you want to build Windows applications, you learn to program on Windows. If you want to build applications for Mac, you learn to code on the Mac.Now, as you say you want to start programming, you probably want to gain a level of proficiency with one programming language before really moving on to development. Now, at the early stages, there isn’t much difference between Windows and Mac for most languages. The differences come in later. For C, you’d have to install Xcode on the Mac, and MinGW on Windows. Same for C++ on the Mac, but Visual Studio on Windows has options to install support for languages supported by the .NET Framework (C++, Python, C#, Visual Basic… ). Basically, again, there’s not much difference when you’re starting out.Though if you really want to start programming, why not try a Linux distro? Ubuntu is good for beginners. Later you can move on to Fedora, or even something like Arch (my personal favourite) or Gentoo.

Which computer is better for data analysis, Mac or Windows?

Data analysis is not normally a function of the client operating system, but the applications you run on them. The most popular software for data analysis will be available on both platforms - and really it would be a question of looking at the hardware requirements that can best handle the amount of data you wish to process.

Which is better for a programmer, a Mac or a PC?

The clear choice is a Mac; since, it has more computing power then a WINDOWS PC will ever have. It will even have more computing power than a LINUX based PC. Furthermore, it is a fully standardized multicore based computer that is widely commercially supported. It also comes with free programming tools that you get both with the Mac OS-X operating system (many are now downloadable free of charge). Even better yet, all Apple Mac Pro’s and Mac Book Pro’s are designed to last as long as ten years. This is something that your average PC will not do. Moreover, the Mac’s are made by a company that was the first in the industry to make a personal computer and has been in existence since the mid 1970’s and will be in business for the next thirty years. Should I buy a Mac or a PC for programming?

I’m not sure if this is still the case, since I quit using Windows about 15 years ago solely because I got sick of having BSODs. Every Windows PC I ever used would eventually get some driver installed on it that would cause it some intermittent grief. And then, I started using a MacBook Pro and for me it’s the best development environment I’ve ever had. I have NEVER had my Mac’s operating system get screwed up and prevent me from doing work. I can run VM’s on it if I need windows or a specific version of Linux. For my primary job which ships code on a custom version of Linux, I can do 99% of my development natively on my Mac since most *nix type coding is so similar. Probably if I had to use a Windows PC right now, the first thing I’d do would be to install VMWare so I could run Linux on it…

Which is better for a Computer Science student, a Mac or a PC?

Some differences in performance of Mac and Windows:》Gaming: Windows can play all sorts of games but it's opposite in Mac.》Performance:Mac is really tough to beat in terms of performance.》safety: Almost 99% of viruses are made for Windows ,so Mac is more secure as compared to Windows.》Price:Windows pc price is lower as compared to the various Mac versions.》Efficiency:Mac is more efficient than windows. As I am using Mac pro from the past 3 years but still it works as a new whereas my Windows pc which is 1 year younger than Mac is almost finished (in terms of performance).Plus Mac gives an opportunity to learn swift which helps in developing iOS apps.So choose wisely and according to your need!

Which operating system is better for undergraduates in Computer Science Engineering (BTEch) - Mac OS or Windows 10?

I’ve never used a Mac OS myself (except for running it on a Virtual Machine), so I cannot really compare Mac with Windows. But I’ve been using Windows all my life, starting from Windows XP to 7 to 8 to 8.1 and finally 10.Users do say the Mac experience is one of a kind, but I, personally, get bored after a while (referring to the iPhone experience). I am a CSE Undergraduate myself and I see no reason why students should not use Windows 10.Windows 10 is excellent for programming (Bash is now on Windows 10), excellent for installing any sort of crap that you want (jail breaking in Mac required). Also you have to be a legitimate user to use a Mac… same cannot be said for Windows 10 (I don’t recommend being a pirate though). You can play high end games and try any number of hacks that you want.As a CSE student, I love the UI, the customization features and the relative ease of access. Then there is the Universal App Platform which lets you run apps that wont normally run on Desktops (provided that the developer has made them available). Not everything can run on Ubuntu/Mac but Windows is the ultimate platform for everything. And even if something does require a specific environment to run, you can easily configure Windows to do so.Then there is Cortana to play with and the whole one OS thing, which gives me a seamless experience across all my Microsoft products. I don’t think any other OS can beat that.My verdict. Windows 10 for the win.Cheers!!!

Is Mac, Windows or Linux better for a CS student or developer?

I can't really tell you what to do, but I can tell you how things went for me.When I was a CS student I built my own computer and installed Linux on it. First Red Hat, then Mandrake, then Ubuntu. This was a really good choice, because it taught me A LOT. I learned how hardware architecture works, how drivers are important and how the OS can be a powerful tool and sometimes a pain in the ass. Also, this way I could invest on good hardware and keep software free. After I graduated and landed my first job, I built a new, improved and powerful computer. I also installed a legit copy of Windows on it and bought all my software. I used free versions of .NET to learn better C#, SQL, ASP .NET and MVC skills that I needed to improve myself as a developer. Then, as my need for a laptop increased, I went for a MacBook Pro. To this day, it's my favorite computer for working. OSX has a really good feel for productivity and hardware is superb. I installed Windows 10 on it via Boot Camp and it's the best Windows machine I've ever used. Also, all that Linux experience from my student days helped me use OSX in a better way, via terminal. Besides, I now have the perfect computer to develop mobile apps for any platform. So, in conclusion, I'd really recommend you to try as much as you can. As a CS student / developer, knowledge is your most important skill. My personal choice, as an established developer, is a Mac. You can install any OS in it and the hardware is really good and durable.
