Is Your Child A Little Wimp When It Comes To Horror Movies And Things Like That Or Brave Age

Which horror movie scared you the most? What was it that disturbed you?

Ah yes, the movies that made me cry at night. There is plenty of horror movies that really scared me. Hope you don’t mind that I’ll share more than one title.1. The Strangers (2008)There is something explicitly violent in the psychological torture depicted in this movie. The heavy atmosphere is hanging right above the head of the protagonists - a hopeless couple, destined to be killed.I remember watching this movie and having a hard time thanks to the palpable tension. “The Strangers” was skin-deep scary to me partially because of how pointless this torture was. Most of the killing machines shown in movies are given any kind of background, a reason. The happy family from Bryan Bertino’s movie had none. Just pure, sociopath fun.2. Sinister (2012)What made “Sinister” frightening to me was the soundtrack. I’m in love with this incredibly creepy, eerie score that imbues the whole story with an unspeakable level of dread.3. Suspiria (1977)Again, the soundtrack did the job. Goblin’s main theme along with songs like “Witch” were both scary and grotesque in a certain way. Even after all these years (and a terrible remake), it makes my blood run faster.4. The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)This is probably the most ridiculous and unexpected movie to appear in such topic. But yeah, this pretty bad movie was my childish nightmare. I watched it a long time ago, alone at night. And the weird creatures, DNA-blends of humanand animals were both atrocious and truly scary to me. I still remember the first scene when the lab of Dr. Moreau is shown - it was actually blood-curdling.5. The Witch (2015)The atmopshere of this film was phenomenal. I didn’t need gore, blood spilled or a psycho killer on a loose to make my heartbeat faster. It was disturbing, it was dark and had me on the edge of my seat. Can’t wait to hear other people’s answers! And if you wish to find out some other cool horror movies, take a look at one of my lists:Cult-themed horrors - from “Wicker Man” to Mexican indie darlingFunny & gory - dozen of films that use just the right amount of red paint

Why is Tommen so useless?

Tommen was not useless. He was a regular kid. In his heart was a very good, decent, caring and an intelligent person. He showed empathy and cared for people. He cared for his wife, his venomous mother and even cared for his uncle Tyrion who accordingly almost everyone else in his family is a complete disgrace or the greatest insult to the Lannister clan. He even cared for Sansa whose family was a declared enemy to the crown.Tommen had no father figure in his life, an abusive psychopath brother who was also an absolute ruler of a kingdom without almost any check, a manipulative and vicious mother and a domineering grandfather. Then he witnesses his beloved sister being shipped to Dorne, his brother being killed violently, dying of poison in front of his eyes and then after a very brief period the only mentor he had which is his grandfather Tywin die; killed by his very own uncle. He was also not stupid and clearly realized that he was a pawn in the game played by his wife and his mother; both women who he loved. No wonder he gravitated towards a father figure like High Sparrow. The boy needed empathy and guidance.Look, not everyone who is thrust the mantle of a ruler at such an young age under such challenging circumstances will turn out to be Akbar - WikipediaIn fact one may argue that Akbar had a stable family relations, far better mentors and far better men from his father’s regime than what Tommen had.Tommen in the show is a truly tragic character. Under proper circumstances he would have turned out to be a very good ruler in a way perhaps Jaehaerys I was. Spare a thought for the poor lad. He was not useless by any means.

What is the perception of Bengalis among non-Bengalis?

I AM A BONG INDEED. BUT BORN AND BROUGHT UP IN JHARKHAND.My bunch of friendsAyush(Bihari): Bhai!! Bong girls are hot as hell, Why has god been so rude to you all !!Pratap(Haryanvi): Bhai, Why the heck you guys make that Oo-laa-laa sound(saying about ulu dhyani considered pious for our happy occasions)Amandeep(Punjabi): Bhai you guys are very chicken-hearted. No spine at all.Keshav(Marwari) : All of you indulge in paid jobs rather go and start your own business.Yashwant(Keralite): You always give priority to western culture rather following your own.My Contradictions:1.A bong hero.A bhojpuri hero2. Why are we afraid of the dark?

In early days of human existence on earth, Humans were not on top of the pyramid of food chain. They were easily exploitable by predators. Humans knew that, predators are more likely to attack in the dark so that fear and protective mechanism started to build in the subconscious mind of humans. It may sound surprising but ''Fear of the Dark'' is a preventive measure of our brain. Brain is similar in working as that of computers. Our brain has been programmed in a way that whenever there is an incomplete image of the surroundings, the brain tries to complete it (fill the void area) to understand the surroundings better.Consider an example of an image which is getting generated on a computer, the image needs to be 100% complete to be able to display it. If the image is only 20% generated, then the remaining 80% area will be left blank and the computer won't be able to process it. It will prompt that there is an error in this image.Similar thing happen with brain. Brain is programmed to understand hundred percent of the environment and when the environment generated in the brain is not hundred percent, it tries to fill that void with relatable objects and experiences we had.Let's say you are in the dark and brain is able to only see 20% of the surrounding. Now on the basis of the 20% data, brain will try to understand the surrounding but only 20% data is not sufficient to process and understand it. Brain will take the files or the data from the folder which are similar to the surrounding like dark, danger, ghosts or fear, predators and put those elements in that 80% empty space so that it completes an image to understand it.The absence of light is what makes the brain to complete the image of the surrounding with relevant objects in order to protect ourselves from the dangers of going into unknown. Our brain is such a marvellous object indeed :)
