Islam If You Break A Promise

Islam if you break a promise?

The fulfillment of promise is a virtue, which Islam recommends. The breaking of promise is a vice, which it prohibits.

Allah the Most High said: “O you who believe, why you say that which you do not do? It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.”

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (S) said: “He who believes in Allah and the Day of Judgement must fulfill his promises.”

He (S) also said: “He who has these three things should he counted a hypocrite, even if he performs the daily prayers, observes fasting and thinks that he is a Muslim: breach of trust, lying and breach of promise.”

He (S) also said: “Anyone who does not wrong people in his behaviour towards them, does not lie in his talks with them, and does not break his promises to them; he is among those whose manliness is complete, whose justice is manifest, whose brotherhood is indispensable, and whose backbiting is forbidden.”

Imam ‘Ali (a.s.) the Commander of the Faithful said: “Breach of promise brings the hatred of Allah and of people. Allah says: ‘It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.’1”

Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) said: “A promise which a believer makes to his brother is a vow that has no expiation; so he who fails to fulfill it, his failure will he counted against Allah and he will he exposed to His hatred. Allah says: ‘O you who believe, why do you say that which you do not do? It is most hateful to Allah that you should say that which you do not do.’2”

He (a.s.) also said: “A believer is a brother to his believing fellow, an eye and a guide for him. He never betrays wrongs or tricks him, nor does he make to him a promise which he breaks.”

In islam, if you break a promise.....?

Ok so I broke a couple of promises or oaths I took by allahs name, I now know that I will or should never say Wallahi for little things but only for serious things like something that could change your life. But I broke a couple of promises and found out I could just do one expiation for one or more broken promises. So I decided to fast for three days and this is my second day and everyone is tempting me to break my fast. I really don't want to and I force myself that I should not and guard myself from evil things like pornography and masturbation(other of my questions), so I was wondering if you could fast three seperate days as an expiation. I could still fast three constant days, just wondering if I could do it seperately. And yes to my other questions, I finally stopped masturbation and pornography! YUS! To those who have this problem, just do an activity when you have the urge like running around or watching tv or whatever that takes your mind off of it like video games. But I really want this question to be answered on if you can fast three seperate days as an expiation.

If I break my promise to God, will he punish me?

I made a promise to God that I wouldnt kiss a boy until I am 16. I'm 13 now. I made this promise when I was about 8 or 9. Will God punish me? If a Pastor or someone could answer this, that would be great. Please, no 'God doesn't exist' because I believe he does and your not helping. I just want to know if anyone has broken a promise to God. I cry a lot over this and I pray to him a lot but, I'm still afraid of breaking it. I need help. I love God. All my friends are getting their first kisses and I really like a guy. But, this promise is holding me back. I need to know what to do! HELP ME PLEASE! ):

What if you break a promise you made to Allah? Ramadan?

None of us are perfect, after all we are the children of Adam and sinning is in our nature. Ask Allah for forgiveness, because Allah is the all forgiving. Its better to ask for Allah's forgiveness and not be forgiven than not ask for it at all. Allah loves it when His servants sin and ask for His forgiveness and mercy. Make dua to Allah to make you avoid all sins (known or unknown) whether done intentionally or unintentionally. It is good to be scared and to feel ashamed because you've just broken a promise that you made to the Al-Mighty, but like i said none of us are perfect and Allah will forgive you if you ask for for it sincerely. Allah never turns away from His servant who humbly and sincerly asks for His forginss. Just try to not repeat the sin again.

"And seek forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Compassionate."
(Qur’an 73:20)

“O son of Adam! As long as you invoke Me and plead to Me, I will forgive you whatever you have committed, and I will not make much of it. O son of Adam! If your evil deeds reach the borders of the sky, and then you ask Me for forgiveness, I will forgive you. O son of Adam! If you bring forth the earth full of errors, then you meet Me while you do not associate anything (or anyone) with Me, I will bring forth for you its full of forgiveness.” [At-Tirmidhee]

How do I break a promise to Allah? Please answer only if you're sure about the answer?

I'm 14
A couple years ago (sorry for tmi) I messed with acne on my face. My face would end up red. My mom told me to swear on the Quran (put my hand on the Quran and swear) that I wouldn't mess with my face anymore (squeezing picking etc)and so I did. Later I regretted not having told her that I didn't wanna swear on the Quran. Now I get stuff on my face that I wanna remove, and I won't dare because of that swear. I always regret what I did. I regret that I didn't tell my mom that I don't wanna swear on the Quran.
Is there anything I can do to get back to "messing" with my face?
Please only answer if you know the answer is accurate, not something you're making up.
Jazakum Allah Khairan
