It’s the most hypocritical scheme allowed by a government or the Catholic church to legally allow for the permanent separation of an union between spouses to cease … ALSO KNOWN AS A FRAKING DIVORCE but on steroids as it is, in many ways, much better!So you ask WHY IS DIVORCE BANNED IN THE PHILIPPINES? The rich who generally either control who gets elected or simply elect one of their own do NOT need the divorce as a mechanism, and they simply do NOT give a hoot. They simply have something better in the form of an ANNULMENT. With an annulment, those with the means to pay for the elaborate legal scheme can actually apply to the clergy and get their union nullified as if it never existed so that they can re-marry within the Catholic church.So, for a God fearing Nation as is the Philippines, why screw around with half measures when they, and I mean those who really matter (sarcasm), have their cake and eat it too? As for the rest of the 90% Filipinos who can’t afford taking the ‘high road’, tough luck! As degrading as it may sound in 2018, your masters have spoken as the colonial mentality still lives on strong in the Philippines.
