It Makes Me Sad That I Take Adderall .

Adderall making me depressed?

Adderall, for the most part, makes you super concentrated and focused. But it doesn't necessarily make you want to do physical activities and it annihilates your appetite. Try and think about how it has changed your physical activity and diet. In my opinion that could easily be it. It may have caused you to know keep your cardiovascular system in as much shape as it usually is, as well as making fruits and vegetables (and even water) not so appealing.

Most people are usually surprised when they find out how drastic an effect that a lack of exercise and lack of proper food & nutrition has on the psyche and mental state.

Hope this bit of info helped. Take care now. :) <3

Adderall makes me really emotional?

Really? That's weird... 'Cause when I was on it, I felt numb. Like, really focused, but numb. It was nice for doing science or math homework, but I hated that "tunnel-vision" feeling, and couldn't wait for it to wear off.

Anyway, ask your doctor if they can switch you to Adderall XR or to Vyvanse. I don't know what the dose conversion is, but I'm sure your doctor can figure it out. I think you're getting those effects as a result of fluctuating blood levels. So if we can get your blood levels of the medication to be smoother, I'm certain you won't get those feelings anymore.

Best of luck!

Why is adderall making me depressed?

I've been on Wellbutrin for 3 months and I can't say I am GREAT! But I can say is that it has calm my depression and I'm basically okay. My doctor prescribed me Adderall for A.D.D. but I noticed that towards the end of the day I get reallllly down. I just want to know, why doctors prescribe adderall to people who are being treated for depression, prescribe them Adderall when its known to cause you to be sad, due to the withdrawls? I just don't get why I am getting treated for depression yet I am getting depressed because of my other medication.

Why is it vyvanse makes me depressed and adderall makes me happy?

It is because the Adderall was either immediate release version or Adderall XR you did not specify which one. Vyvanse is an extended version of these dopamine rich medications and all highly addictive too. I know I got hooked on them for a year and they helped destroy my marriage, work, relationship with my kids and family members plus all the eratic behavior people would tell me I was doing. I can't tell you one way or the other but if taking for ADHD maybe go down in strength to Ritalin and try to taper off slowly, if you run out welcome to hell, it's bizzare psychotic delusional effect can cause suicide, violent acts and seizures or heart failure. Are you seeing a qualified physician like a psychiatrist or family doctor, if family doctor fire him and maybe psychiatrist too. I am now clean off stimulant med's for over 90 days now and never again as much as I miss that rush will return to them ever again. It's true Effexor also a hard to stop SNRI antidepressant but works if dosage is correct, but don't take stimulants with htese med's unless your doctor knows and a good qualified one too. Smoking increases dopamine levels in your brain and one reason the most addictive substance around. We all have a thing in the brain called our pleasure reward system or three terms that fuel this are the ventral tegmental areas, amygdala and nucleus accumbens that are involved in this pleasure seeking process, but also addiction and dependence too. Stimulants hands down are the best for chronic dysthimia or depression but the most harmful in several medical professionals agree too. Don't break the capsule, snort it, inject it or smoke it as you will be in a world of sh-t for sure then. Call your pharmacist or doctor and explain to them its not working as well. I almost would bet you were on the more potent adderall short acting little blue or peach colored pills or capsules if XR version, good luck and hope all works out for you. If you catch yourself taking more or trying to snort, inject or smoke it seek a qualified psychopharmacologist or addiction health professional. Sorry, know it's not what you wanted to hear, but NEED TO HEAR, see ya.

Is shaking normal when your on adderall?

According to wikipedia, Adderall can have tremors as a side effect when you are overdosing. More common side effects seem to be nausea, dizziness, insomnia, digestion issues, and a loss of appetite. If your shaking is mild I would recommend contacting your doctor about it, perhaps a reduction in dosage is in order. If your shaking is more severe, though, it may be a sign that you should seek more immediate attention for the condition.

Is Adderall a really big mistake?

Simply put everything you describe is almost certainly from the Adderall. Adderall will certainly increase your confidence and reduce your depression (it is sometimes prescribed for treatment-resistant depression). But if you crash, not everyone does, it can cause depression clinically indistinguishable from severe major depressive disorder.

Also as much as you may think you have ADHD you can't diagnose your self and not all doctors require testing, there is no single standard universally accepted test for ADHD. I never do testing on patients with ADHD.

It sounds like the amount of Adderall you are taking it too much for you. If you do have ADHD you will probably have beneficial effects at a lower dose, you have said you are taking up to 40 mg because of depression, not the ADHD.

I really think you need to completely stop and be prepared for a few bad days. It sounds like you are taking instant-release Adderall (tablets). So if you have been taking it once or twice a day there is no point in tapering the dose. Adderall only lasts 4-6hrs. The amount you took was not that much, technically 40 mg/day if the FDA approved maximum dose for ADHD but up to 60 mg/day may be used for narcolepsy and in some rare cases 90 mg, even 120 mg is prescribed for sleeping disorders. However 40 mg may be too much for you personally.

When you do see a doctor about ADHD talk about this, a lot of people take stimulants to self medicate for ADHD or depression, it does not mean you are an addict or that the doctor won't prescribe you medication. If you do need medication you might consider an extended-release medication since it is less likely to cause a crash and it lasts most of the day.

One person mentioned Vyvanse as a less addictive option, that is not true. Vyvanse is harder to abuse when it is snorted, smoked, or injected. However when taken orally Vyvanse has the same abuse potential of other amphetamines. Vyvanse is a prodrug so it has no pharmacological effects on its own but it is broken down into dextroamphetamine, an amphetamine that produces its effects. Vyvanse may be a good option for some people but it is absurdly expensive and the dextroamphetamine it turns into is in Adderall (mixed with levoamphetamine) and Dexedrine is pure dextroamphetamine. Both drugs are much cheaper than Vyvanse.

Really you should let the doctor pick the medication if you need one.
