It Takes Me A Half Hour To An Hour To Fall Asleep Every Night

Can't fall asleep at night?

Lately for the past few days I have not been able to fall asleep within 2 hours. The night before last night it took me 4hours to fall asleep and last night it took me 3 hours. It's never been this bad before, at most it used to take me an hour and a half to fall asleep, and once I fall asleep I never wake up in the middle of the night. I actually had a great dream last night too. It's just the only problem is the act of falling asleep, I just can't do it.

Sleep at LEAST 10 hours every night but still wake up tired?

I have the same problem as you. Sometimes if i drink too much caffeine or do something exciting that arouses me mentally and my body is not physically tired, i can stay up for hours.

As far as sleeping for ten hours and still feeling tired, i can also relate. I find that when i go to sleep really late so that i feel really tired, and then wake up 10 hours later, ill feel tired anyway (2-12). But when i go to sleep and I'm not exhausted and wake up ten hours later, I don't feel tired. (11-9)

I think this has to do with sleep patterns and not your actual amount of sleep. Notice when you stay up to 5am and then get 2 hours of sleep, you dont feel really tired at 7am.

I chug half a bottle of Nyquil to fall asleep at night...?

i know that doing this all the time can cause liver problems. you really shouldn't be doing this. it's not good for you. you should try taking sleeping pills or melatonin (which is a natural sleep aid). -which is a lot better for you to do. when my boyfriend and i have problems sleeping we take sleeping pills. it starts working in about 30minutes. but, just don't become dependent on it. i can understand why you would do this because when you just go to sleep it can take 15mins to an hour to fall asleep.. but with you drinking the nyquil it just knocks you out.. and it feels better to just pass out then to have to wait to fall asleep, if that makes sense. do you have a hard time sleeping? i would suggest for you to take melatonin if so. it will regulate your sleeping patterns and make it easier for you to sleep. my boyfriend has a really hard time sleeping. he use to take melatonin.. and that really helped him.

It's been going on for a while but now it has grown longer. It can take me hours before I fall asleep. I start thinking of odd things and when I try preventing it I end up thinking even more! How can I get to sleep faster? After I fall asleep everything is fine.
