You can obtain a SIM card at your port of entry or International Airport by submitting a copy of your Passport , Visa and Valid Proof of the place you will staying in India.The SIM activation may take couple of hours to few days for activation. You will be receiving a confirmation call for cross checking your details so keep your passport and Visa handy.If you are a tourist the SIM card will be activated for 3 months and incase you are on business visit or exchange program then you can extend the validity of SIM card by submitting document at Service providers outlet.
Which network is better BSNL or Jio?
When you use BSNL & people come to know that you are using BSNL they will raise their eye brows. It happened to me several times.One of my friend told me that he has changed his network name BSNL to Vodafone.Once I met a ZBM of a Telecom operator. During conversation on various technology & 4g coverage, when he come to know that I am a BSNL user, he told me that I am the 2nd person of BSNL user he met in his life. ( 1st user he met was his father )I don't know why ????One thing you should bear in mind while choosing the network providers, BSNL only offers 3G/2g, but Jio offers only 4g over LTE, I am a frequent traveler & covers almost north India. I have been with Airtel network from 2007, (let it)In present seceniro where I put up Airtel also provides VoLTE a maximum speed of 8 to 10 mbps, Jio provides 6–10 mbps, but both sucks in rural areas. After lots of r&d someone suggested me to try BSNL. Last month I got Mnp my Jio number to BSNL & their 3G speed is 2 time faster then Airtel & Jio 4G, now I am very much satisfied & surprised too. I got recharged my no with a amount of ₹1999 that offers 6.5 GB data per day & unlimited voice over last one year. That mean I am getting 2372.5 GB data in ₹1999. ( u can check on bsnl site )I am streaming full HD movies without buffering on my MI android TV Even Airtel & Jio 4g buffers little bit. Sometimes I think I have no use of set top box.If you are fed up with slow speed network congestion try once.Now I am a proud user of BSNL.i was in Delhi for a week, used it speed test is as attached here taken at Nehru Place new Delhi.

I don't know if it works with MTNL but - Call Now Card from Bsnl is worth having a look.Page on portal.bsnl.inYou need to specifically ask for CNC (Call Now Card) in your Bsnl office to get low international rates. I called UK @ 4.50 per minute whereas other companies are offering UK calls at approx. 10-12 Rs per minute. Do not go for ITC or UTC card. They are different with higher calling rates,Ravi.

That's not a bad option to do. And the difference obviously if, in the place where are you working, you will be an external employee. If you work hard and your employer likes your performance, you might eventually move to this company as a permanent employee.If you have another offer in hand already, then prefer that might offer you a permanent position, where you are permanent employee to the company itself and not to the consultancy. Again, depends on the standard of the company you are referring to. If it's a great company, then no issues working on third party payroll. Just remember, in future, all the companies you will work for, will check if you are on third party roll or if you are permanent employee.
