Itchy And Cold Toes On Both Feet

Why do my feet itch after a shower and how do I make it stop?

So many answers, thank you!

I'm beginning to think the "soap residue" theor(ies) may have merit...the itch happens in both my bathtub and my shower, but seems to occour most often/fiercely in my bathtub. Given that I use different soap products in the bath compared to the shower (The former being largely for pleasure soaks, the latter being more for daily cleaning), and the buildup of bubblebath on the bathtub could be a major factor, especially given that my shower is HUGE so the concentration of soapscum would be greater in the tub... I do live alone, but I'll try scrubbing the tub & shower once a week, see if that helps...

As for moisturizing my feet, I'll definitely give that a try as well. I'm a resident of the space coast of Florida and wear sandals almost exclusively, so it's possible that the constant exposure to the air could cause them to be a little dry..

Thank you again everyone!

Tops of feet itch like crazy?

About a week ago, I got a pedicure. It was NOT the first one I've gotten. The next day, the tops of both my feet were itching like mad. It's been almost a week now and they still are driving me insane! I've tried lotion thinking they were just dry. I also used aloe vera, which provides temporary relief, but not for long. I don't know if the pedicure was the cause of it all. But i figured if it was an allergic reaction, it would have stopped by now. I really want it to stop, and figure out what is causing it!

P.S. I don't think it is athletes foot because it is only the top of my feet that itch, not the bottoms.

Why do my toes and feet itch while they are thawing out after football out in the snow?

When your body gets cold, your brain and cardiovascular systems go into sort of an emergency response mode. Since it is of utmost importance to retain necessary working temperatures for your core internal organs (heart, brain, lungs, etc.), your body will start to shut down what is called peripheral circulation. So, little if any blood flow will be sent to your fingers, toes, feet. That loss of blood flow results in those areas becoming cold, with secondary loss of sensation. When you go inside and warm up, the blood flow slowly returns to those areas, and sensation and normal color return. So in a sense, yes, the nerves are "waking up", and this will cause the itching or pins & needles effect you're experiencing. Once those areas are back to normal temperature, the sensation will stop. This is very similar to the experience we all have of our foot or arm "going to sleep". If you're going to play outside in cold weather, be sure to wear layers of clothes, preferably insulated socks, good sound shoes, gloves, and have a hot drink (not alcohol) at hand to replenish body heat and keep you hydrated. Also, limit your time outside, because the experience you're describing, if not tended to, could lead to actual frostbite and non-repairable damage to the affected areas. This can lead to the need for surgery, possibly even amputation. Your feet, hands, nose and ears are the most sensitive areas, so make sure they're protected against the cold. Good luck.

Swollen, itchy big toe?

A couple of days ago my left big toe randomly started to itch really bad and after I looked at it, it's really swollen around the toenail and at the tip of the toe. I've been waking up in the middle of the night because of how itchy it's gotten. I've tried athlete's foot spray and anti-itch cream and nothing's making the itch subside. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why do my palms and feet start to itch after having alcohol?

Itching can be pruritus kind of thing. This happens in liver diseases like cirrhosis. If you are consuming too much of alcohol,it can cause damage to liver, and  manifest as itching. However, cirrhosis has other manifestations like abdominal distension, jaundice, pruitus, etc. You need to lesen your alcohol and get your LIVER FUNCTION TEST done. This is really important.I have mentioned liver because you are alcoholic. It may even have other reasons like diabetes. So first get your test done.

I have EXTREMELY ITCHY FEET?

My itch started on my small toe on the left foot. The itch wasn't that bad. till it spread to the two next toes. That was a lot worst i had to put it in a tub of cool water. Then i went to see the doctor see gave me this 1% Hydro cortisone Anti-itch Creme, But that lead to a terrible itchy on my bottom of my big toe and the bottom of my small toe and on the heel it was where my callus were. The itch was intense. I could stop itching i had to eat bennidryl to and put it in Extreme cold water. The itch came back almost every day at the same stops. It got so bad that i was sent home from school. It was on both of my feet. The doctor said it did not look like a fungal infection. I have bad circulation could that be the cause? I need a cure fast it, stopping me from doing any sports. Please help me find a cure. Thank you

I have a yellow, itchy discoloration on both of my feet should I use...?

try soaking your feet in a warm tub of water and odoban nitely...u can get it at sam's whole sale club. its very concentrated and can last a long time. then be sure to spray some in your shoes. before putting shoes on, be sure to put some corn starch in your shoes. ventilating your feet thru out the day will help. if you can not find odoban, you can use regular pine sol. also, pine tar soap will help your skin. you can get it thru your pharmacy at a fairly reasonable price.

My fingers get so itchy when they get real cold?

i can be sitting here at desk and i get cold and fingers itch and so do my feet. i have to go put them in hot water to sooth the itch. Does anyone know why? could it be allergies???

My toes are red, hot, itchy, and swollen. This has happened almost annually for a few years. Is it a disease, caused by weather change, or because I’m not wearing socks with my dress flats?

It might be something called chillblains.I had that.Usually it is because a person is not getting enough exercise and movement to keep his or her blood circulation going well, or is in a cold area then abruptly going to a warm area, with inadequate covering/warmth for feet.Get more exercise, wear socks and wear better quality socks, like wool, and make sure they are clean and dry always. You may not be able to wear dress flats when you go out in a cold area. Also, be very sure that if you do buy good socks, be sure your shoes are not then too tight to accomodate the socks.Ideally you see a doctor to be sure it’s not something more serious. But chillblains are common and easily fixed.
