Its Been About 8 Days Since I Burnt The Roof Of My Mouth

Bump on the roof of my mouth.?

do you have any hardware in your mouth? (braces, retainer, etc..)
i had a retainer in my mouth when i got a big bump behind my top teeth.
(dont read this if you want reassurance that everything is fine)
i had to have it surgically removed, which i was awake for, both times, so it was pretty horrible. i was in shock afterwards, i had to get a new retainer from the growth being imprinted into it. once i got the new one, the bump grew back again, so i went in for surgery again, and finally they told me to stop wearing my retainer. once i stopped wearing it, it never grew back. thank god it wasnt cancerous...

i would very very highly highly highly HIGHLY advise having it checked out if it does not go away in a few days. and if it does need to be removed, prepare for the surgery! you are fully awake for it, and its disgusting! you can feel them chopping and cutting into your mouth, which doesnt hurt, but the shots before, dear god! they hurt like the dickens! i had to have atleast five pallet shots, and some behind my lip! you can hear them poking into the roof of your mouth, and after the surgery, its pretty bad too. they put some kind of pink tubby-custard looking junk where they cut, and it tastes nasty! they didnt bother stitching me up, the wound was wide open, and it bled for days, and eating was terrible! i couldnt have the food touch the roof of my mouth or it would burn like crazy! once the pink custard stuff fell out, the wound was well enough to be exposed to food and spit. just so you know, that part was pretty ba

Tips for a burned roof of mouth!?

ICE or ice cold water...MY remedy but let's see what another link says...

Pizza Burn
Bite into a slice of steaming hot pizza and ... yow! That nasty burn you get on the roof of your mouth could make you consider take-out Chinese next time.

It's an agonizing encounter: Searing hot cheese meets the tender parts of your upper palate. What you can expect are a blistering lesion, moderate pain that lasts for about a week and sometimes a loosened piece of flesh that hangs down from the roof of your mouth. The symptoms are so typical that this condition has made it into the pages of authoritative medical journals as--what else?--"pizza burn."

But actually, pizza is only one of the hot foods that can burn. The tissue on the roof of your mouth is only millimeters thick. Just about any food or drink that retains heat well--any melted cheese dish, many soups and sauces, beverages like tea and hot chocolate, even hot hot fudge topping--can damage that tissue and cause swelling. Until recently, these other culprits have been bit players in this oral drama. Pizza was the main villain. But now, in the age of the microwave, any hot food can produce a sneak attack.

So here's what to do if you singe your mouth.

Ice it. "Put an ice cube in your mouth immediately to neutralize some of the tissue reaction," suggests Fred Magaziner, D.D.S., a spokesdentist for the Academy of General Dentistry and host of "Open Wide--A Look at Dentistry," a Baltimore TV talk show about dental care. "Besides lessening some of the pain, it will reduce the chance of any additional swelling and irritation. That's why it's also a good idea to never bite into pizza without a cold drink handy."

Gargle with salt water. I recommend frequent saltwater rinses--every hour or so if you can manage," says Bernard Dishler, D.D.S., a dentist in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. "Make your own rinse of 1/2 teaspoon of salt mixed with eight ounces of warm water to promote the healing process."

Should I pop a blister on the roof of my mouth?

I just burnt the roof of my mouth real bad on pizza and it has formed a blister. Should I pop it or just leave it alone until it goes away. If I should leave it alone, how long will it stay? It's a little annoying. Thanks!

Why does the roof of my mouth hurt when I eat?

I know I didn't scrape it or burn it. Whenever I eat, or even sometimes drink something, it makes the roof of my mouth hurt horribly. It sort of feels like a muscle cramp. It also feels like there are bumps, but those could have been there before and I never noticed. It started yesterday. I rode my bike half a mile about in heat to a friends house, and biked back a bit later, and when I got home that's when It started bothering me. What could it be? thank you.
