Japanese Native Only Help With Japanese Page

Can anyone help teach me Japanese?

I’ve helped tutor some high schools in Japanese for a few years now, and I personally enjoy teaching the beautiful language!Considering your question, you probably don’t have much knowledge on the language. You should be able to find many lessons and articles on Japanese, such as the writing system and basic phrases. If you truly are interested, you can check out many online sites that aid in beginning Japanese learners. The very first step to learning Japanese, I recommend, is the two fundamental writing systems, katakana and hiragana. These two will be your best friends in your first steps through the door of 日本語 (Nihongo).WHAT I RECOMMENDNow, I never get the chance to save people from this because they either don’t listen or they’ve already grown too accustomed to the flawed technique. I highly, highly encourage you to learn the 50 characters (+han/dakuten) without the use of mnemonics or associating the characters to Latin letters. I consider this a flawed learning style, especially for English-native speakers, because they tend to never actually learn the Japanese characters. They only memorise the association of their language to a symbol that they need to visualise that can trigger that association, not the actual kana and its pronunciation. You don’t pass your 26 English letters to another language or make mnemonics to their sound; thus, you shouldn’t do that with any other language. You will hurt your fluency and make learning it difficult and frustrating. Yes, learning a language will be challenging, but to make it intuitive and actually useful, you want to get into the habit of segregating your native language from your learning the second.

Anyone fluent in Japanese, need help translating?

Polite version
こんにちは。Xのことがとても心配です。
Xは私の親しい友達なので、会いに行きたいです。
お見舞いに行っても差支えないかどうか、Xに聞いていただけませんか?
どこに入院しているのですか?

Konnichiwa. X no koto ga totemo shimpai desu. X wa watashi no shitasii yuujin nanode, ait ni ikitai desu. Omimai ni ittemo sashitsukae nai ka douka, X ni kiite itadakemasen ka? Doko ni nyuin shiteiru no desu ka?

Casual version
どうも。Xすごい心配なんだけど。
仲良いし会いに行きたいよ。
お見舞いに行ってもいいかどうかXに聞いてくれない?
どこに入院してるの?

domo. X sugoi shimpai nandakedo. naka iishi aini ikitai yo. omimai ni ittemo ii ka douka X ni kiite kurenai? doko ni nyuin shiteru no?

These are just some examples of lots of ways to say it but just for your info. Hope it helps. (In Japanese we don't often use "you" "he" "she" and we usually use the name instead, so I didn't literally translate "she" to "kanojo" which means "she".)

btw, Hirame-san, I think you mean "omimai" for the certain word to go see someone in the hospital.

How do I say Page in Japanese?

page
= "ページ" (<-katakana)
= "ぺーじ" (<-hiragana)
= "pe - zi" (or "peizi", "peezi" <-Romaji)

"Turn to page 1" should be like
"1ページ目をひらいてください。"
= "iti pe-zi me wo hiraite kudasai."
= "いち ぺーじ め を ひらいて ください。"

Help With Japanese !!?

I just wanted to know how I can say or express in Japanese to a Native speaker "Please forgive my poor Japanese this is my first time speaking with a Japanese Person" or " Please be patient with me as my Japanese is not so good" something to that effect. Thank You!!

Help with Japanese sentence structure?

I am also learning Japanese, and it can be INCREDIBLY difficult. Think of it like this: "I eat apples" would become "I apples eat." And "Darkness invades my heart" would become "Darkness my heart invades." Yes, it is quite frustrating, and it will take a long time to get comfortable with. But don't give up!

http://www.icanspeakjapanese.com/japanes... this is an awesome URL for the most amazing website ever. It has helped me so much with my Japanese! The URL I gave you directs you to the page on Japanese sentence structure. http://www.icanspeakjapanese.com/ is the homepage URL. But http://www.icanspeakjapanese.com/japanes... gives you great explanations for the sentence structure!

The truth is, Japanese is such a different language from English that it is very difficult to say something in your head and then translate it. It's not like French or Spanish, which is nearly identical to English. You just need to immerse yourself with learning the sentence structure, and understanding the particles (http://www.icanspeakjapanese.com/japanese-particles/) and eventually you will get better. I have been studying Japanese for three-ish years now, and now their sentence structure isn't quite so insane! Best of luck!

Please japanese help! How to change nickname of Yahoo answer Japan?

I am not a Japanese native, but I have an account there. I will try to help you.

I did not find the word 登録情報 to click on.

I went to "My 千恵袋"
The only page where to change something is the page 設定 (set up), but there is no possibility to change the nickname, as far as I saw.

The other page where you can change personal information is プロフィールを編集 (edit profile), but there I could not find any possibility either.

Sorry, it seems that there is no possibility to change the nickname.

@@@@
Edit:
I found the page and the button you mentioned. I succeded to create a nickname by pressing ニックネームの編集 設定 編集を終了. Then I tried to make the the nickname my 表示名, but I also could not find where to go.

By the way, you can click on your profile name. Then a new page opens. Maybe there?

Edit no. 2
I clicked on プロフィール. It is a tab the is below the writing of Yahoo!Japan. Then I clicked on 編集 of プロフィール, which is in the middle of the page. I tried to change 表示名 to the nickname. The change was accepted by 決定, but when I went to this page again. The original name was there. I was surprised!!

Japanese adjective - grammar question?

Sorry, I got that wrong, what I meant to say was that the sentence is:

馬は黒 く ありません。
NOT
馬は黒くではありません。

Sorry about that.

By the way, I'm doing the Rosetta Stone Japanese course, and although I know it's rubbish for learning the language properly, I'm accompanying doing that with speaking to Japanese people on the Internet and reading up on Wikipedia any grammar that I don't know.

What are some good tips for learning Japanese?

To start, I’m 25 years old and have been working in Japan for three years. I spoke Japanese fluently before getting here, and nobody at my company speaks English. I was/am often asked how I speak so fluently, despite mostly self study. Here’s a few tips.Watch Japanese TV dramas! Many people try to learn Japanese from anime. Unfortunately, Japanese anime usually uses a manner of speech that would be very strange to use in daily conversation. TV dramas, however, are vital in learning pronunciation and practicing listening comprehension!Use the Genki textbooks if you want to self study. Rather than wasting time with internet resources, these textbooks are developed by people TRAINED to teach.Practice conversation on @スカイプ - Skype友達募集の掲示板 after you’ve gotten comfortable enough with you Japanese. It’s basically a place to find Skype friends to chat with. It really only targets Japanese people, but people generally get excited to meet a foreigner of any kind. You can get the hang of your self introductions really quick on here!Use flashcards/flashcard apps. If you’re like me, you end up memorizing things in order or by where the word was placed on a page. Then, when the word pops up in a completely different scenario, you can’t recall it. Memorizing hiragana/katakana/kanji/vocabulary is pretty much impossible without flashcards.Use manga to practice reading once you get the hang of it. Unlike novels, which use a lot of narrative speech, mangas are pretty much only conversation based, making it easier to understand if you don’t have a large vocabulary.Make Japanese friends and practice with them! Many universities have Japanese clubs/conversation partner exchanges. You could trade Taiwanese practice for Japanese practice! Finally, a free resource. I loved www.thejapanesepage.com! It’s a place where you can ask questions regarding Japan/Japanese culture and usually get really solid answers! They also have a variety of study resources that I think are pretty solid.Good luck!
