You can do it on your own if you are self-driven and self-disciplined individual. There are plenty of books and material available in the market for JEE MAIN preparation which is almost entirely based on your 11th and 12th CBSE syllabus. You should be thorough with every concept and every part of text books. Of course extra books give you the winning edge - RDSharma for Maths, HC Verma, DC Pandey, Resnick Haliday for Physics etc give you wider exposure and better coverage of the topics covered in your text book. Choose one or two of the best books and work out the examples, exercises given in the books. Don’t look at the solutions instead try to solve them yourself. Over time you will confidence and practice. Past year question papers can be found in JEE Main archives of FITTJEE or other coaching institutes or look online or in a book store and solve them. Consistent study day after day for the next two years is the key to success in JEE MAIN. so i see you do h equals .5gtsquared for t being the total time to fall the distance h

but last half is h/2 = .5g(T-4)squared
so .25gtsquared= .5g(T-4)squared
tsquared=2(T-4)squared
t =root2(t-4)

they have answer at total time is 13.7 seconds and height is 915 meters. confused on how they got these answers. thanks so much.

How do I strengthen my calculus for the JEE Mains in January 2019 if I find it confusing?

It is a great start to know the area for the improvement! That too yourself!!Such an attitude to find out the weaker area and the desire to strengthen is the life skill that would help you in every phase of your life.I would divide Calculus further - Limits (some won't consider Limits as art of Calculus, but this is the basis of Calculus), Differential Calculus, Indefinite Integral, Definite Integral and Differential Equations.One needs to have a good understanding of each of these topics. Get any good book on Calculus and/ or past papers Try to solve the problems on your own. Initially it may take a little longer time. If you take a help from your friend/ teacher / guide/ solution book/ any other source to solve it, then note down such problems in a notebook Try to solve these problems on your own during the weekend. This would help you to recollect the methods ((not the answers!) With practice, you would start solving quickly.Note that the right practice and the right process would help to improve.The above steps you can apply to any topic / subject.Wish you all the best!

Is it necessary to solve the previous year JEE Main paper before your JEE Main exam?
