Job After High School

Why is it so hard to get a job after high school?

I've graduated high school last year in 2008 and it's almost 2010 and I still don't have a job. I've applied everywhere within a 5 mile radius, which include: Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, BestBuy, Toy's-R-Us, Home Depot, Lowe's, Giant Food, Rite-Aid, Walgreen's, Hollywood Video, Rose's, and at all places; i applied for casier/customer service associate, a simple entry-level job, and for some reason, i can't get a job working as a cashier. i have no job experience; i have never had a job before, i have great skills in computers; but i wanna start with a small job so i can get my life started. i got mostly A's and B's in high school, i have no criminal record, and i've never done drugs in my life. i have no idea why i keep getting turned down from all these employers for no reason, and i can't build up a good resume if i don't get a job. Can anyone help me, please?

Is life over after high school?

I only in 10th grade, but I am so afraid for after high school. I don't want to graduate. I want to be the age I am forever.
I feel that after high school, you don't have friends to hang out with, you cant do the same things, you have to go get a job, you can to college (seems so lonely). Your treated different (like an adult).
Then all you do after that is grow older and older.

My mom wants me to start driving and find a job now and I don't want to!

See, I have always wanted friends I could go do things with, that best friend that does everything with you, and none of my friends have anything in common with me, were all completely different people and that fine, but we don't hang out , out of school or have anything to do with each other. So Im still looking for that friend and I guess that I think that after high school, Its over. I wont have that friend. Im a punk girl and their all girly girls, makes since. Not!

I really just don't want to grow up!
My parents get upset with me because of this, but I don't know what to say.

Should I go to college or get a job after high school?

Well you should go to college for something you could earn more money this way but some people who do really good with their hobbies and stuff make good money and don't go to high school btw I thought college was more of a challenge in work but a little more easy in time scechudle because you can pick your classes but if school isn't your thing than so be it

What job should I get after high school if I don’t go to college?

The correct answer is ‘follow you interest …..’The pragmatic answer is become skilled in one of the trades that automation has limited future impact on and cannot be replaced by cheap off-shore talent.Carpenters: still need then to build and repairElectrician: still need to add sockets or remodel etc.Plumbers: Robot is not going to clear your drain or replace a faucet in the near future.…You get my drift.

Is getting a job in high school a good idea?

I asked a question like this already, but forgot some key factors. Basically, I would like to get a part time job this sophomore year when I turn 16 at a store or restaurant somewhere so I can start being independent and not ask my parents for money. School for me ends at 3 so my work schedule would probably be 3-4 hours everyday (give or take a day or two) on weekdays and more on weekends. My grades are very important being as they are number one priority and I have good study habits.
However, I won't be a typical 8am to 3pm sophomore. I plan to take a 0 period starting a 7 so I would get out earlier and have a smaller workload for junior and senior year. If you were me, would you get a job or is it too ridiculous to fit all that in one day? (not even going to try to mention social life and extracurricular activities...)

if it means anything, here is my school schedule: PE, algebra 2, english honors 2, world history, ceramics, pre AP chemistry, and spanish 2.

thank you for all answers and advice!
