Job Help Not A Website A Suggestion

I need medical insurance right now, any suggestions?

I do not qualify for state help and my job does not offer insurance. I just found out last week that I have a cyst on my left ovary the size of a cantalope. My OBGYN wanted me to go in for blood work to get ready for surgery but I asked to wait so I can try to get some insurance. This does appear to be a serious issue and needs to be removed in the next 2-3 months according to the OBGYN.

What are the best career advice websites online?

Although the setting of the site is mostly in the U.S., I'd definitely refer you the one on my bio - PayScale.com most specially the Career News blog. You'll find anything and everything you'd like to know when it comes to jobs including how to choose one, job hunting, and more.Other than the blog itself, there are other sections of the website where you can find valuable information about careers including salary research, employer information, salary negotiation, and more. These are more general in nature though so if you want specific advice which matches your industry, I suggest you try forums and social media groups instead along with blogs and related websites. You may also try specific career counselling sites which allow one on one discussions between a counselor and an employee. Not all these are 100% free though. You will still need to pay something at some point while using the site/service.

What website makes job suggestions based on your resume?

Disclaimer: I am the Head of Product of DreamHire.io but this question is coincidentally highly relevant, so thank you for the A2A!DreamHire.io recommends jobs to candidates based on a resume upload. We match job seekers and employers based on a candidate’s set of skills, experiences, career goals, personality fit and more.Another unique way that we are tackling the job market is that candidates do not need to spend time customizing their resumes and cover letters for each job application. The platform automatically recreates your profile for each application to present you in the best light according to the needs of the employer and you only have to ask specific questions posed by the employer for a simple “cover letter”.Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any feedback or questions!

I'm looking for a creative domain for my job portal website. Can anyone suggest?

Niraj, can you please say a little more about this job portal. What level of employee is your focus? What types of jobs will it feature? What geo location will you cover?

How to write job descriptions on my resume for sales associate, driver, and errand runner. ?

Think of the job you WANT and then think of the skills and qualities that job requires that you might have used in your other jobs. Think open minded, not closed (sales only) and broad.

Skills that you use no matter where you work are called "transferable skills" - meaning they can "transfer" from one place to another because most companies want them.

I don't know if any of this is accurate but here's my suggestions:

SALES ASSOCIATE-Autozone
Provided excellent customer service by knowing the inventory and being able to ask probing questions to help diagnose issues and make recommendations on necessary parts for car repair. Worked as cashier processing sales and processing credit cards. Provided added value and upsold customers by offering additional services or warranties on purchases.

Maintained accurate inventory and made sure that products were always prominently displayed on shelf and that shelves were never empty.

DRIVER-Esi
Delivered products to customers within a XXX mile radius. Required good sense of timing and planning routes to optimize delivery times and make sure that all deliveries were made in a timely manner with no back-tracking or missed drops. Provided excellent customer service by making sure the paperwork was accurate and delivery items not damaged or broken.

TECHNICIAN-Capehart Cutlery
Driver - [same or similar to above]
Sales and Customer Service. Sold knives and other accessories to customers providing customer service by asking questions and truly seeking to provide the customer with a good buying experience and the best product for their needs. Looked for opportunities to increase sales and add value to the customer experience by suggesting products that complimented the purchase the custmer was making and offering any additional services, warranties or features.

What clothes should I wear for a desk job?

The receptionist at my company dresses cute and trendy, she's 24 years old. She wears cute, open toed shoes, nice pair of slacks and cute baby doll shirts or button ups. She doesn't dress slutty or trashy. She is the first point of contact for our clients so she has to set a good example. She wears cute, knee-length skirts with cute t's and cardigans. You could go to places like Target or Forever 21 and match some really cute, trendy, mix and match outfits together. Even Old Navy has a link for "Wear to Work", it gives a head to toe outfit and they are really inexpensive! Good must haves...black slacks, khaki or tan slacks, I personally like white slacks. I like multi-colored shirts in the same shirt, white, black, brown, green, blue, I know that sounds weird but you can mix and match under a sweater with a different pair of slacks and have a great look! The possibilities are endless!

I have applied around 500 jobs from different company websites, I am getting rejected all over again, are there any suggestions on how to change/improve my situation?

It seems that your CV/ application doesn’t match with the requirements specified in those jobs. These are few suggestions.Get your CV/Resume reviewed by someone. You might see it as perfect, but it might not highlight the qualifications required for the job.Don’t put the same application for all the jobs. Tailor your application such that it matches with that specific job’s requirements.Find a referral and apply. Rather than going through the website and apply, find someone from your network who works for that company and apply through that person. Lot of companies (not all) give priority to these people who are employee referrals.Learn something new, which is required in your field which you already don’t know. For example, if you are applying jobs as a mobile developer and you only know android, learn ios too. Find some skill/technology which is cutting edge and trending, which will give you advantage over the other candidates.Don’t give up.Get professional support. I am putting this as the last option since it may be costly. But getting support from the professionals are far better than getting help from a normal person. There are lot of career counselling and career guidance professionals who will help you to make your applications outstanding and skill levels up to date.

Part-time Jobs-- college student, pharmacy tech, nursing?

Why get a job as a pharmacy tech, which will have little to do with you future career as a nurse? It would make much more sense to become a CNA. Most nursing homes offer *free* classes, and they usually offer you a job at the end of the class if you pass the test.

Is it the most desirable job? No, of course not. However, it will look excellent on your resume and you will have NO trouble finding a CNA job. . .we are screaming for CNA's here in New England. The pay is also usually better than that of a pharmacy tech, to tell you the truth. My ex-bf's sister is a CNA and she was making $10.30/hr at her first CNA job, while I was stuck at $8.65 after 6 months in the pharmacy.

I'm not knocking pharmacy techs, because I'm a CPhT myself :]
I just think that a job as a CNA would benefit you more in the future!

How to do Job Application follow-up (walk-in)?

Definitely follow up. Try to call ahead of time to see if the manager is in and show up during non-rush hours. Dress neatly, leave your cell phone in your car, and speak in complete sentences with no slang. Don't take more than 5 minutes of the manager's time unless the manager drags the conversation on. All you want to do is remind the manager (or even alert them) that you put an application in for the job and to get some face time - it is more likely the manager will remember you after meeting you than some person who dropped off an application and never showed up again.

You should do this will all applications you fill out, even if the store is not hiring at that moment.
